Thank you Bored&Stroked and rotorwrench for the advice.

    Banjo ring, is it usable?

Yes the gear is nice, but I'm more concerned about the middle section of it, Compared to the 6.8 gear I want to replace. I don't know if it's paramount that this surface be smooth as a baby's bottom or some scares are acceptable.

    Banjo ring, is it usable?

I have this ring with matching gear, but I wonder if it is usable, all the teeth are pristine, but what do you think of this surface? The blueing, the scratches, does it make a good candidate for a rebuild or no? Is there a way to clean up this surface? The thing is where I live I cannot find...

    Wide five Id US/UK/France/Germany

That would make sense, what does not is the mix of '36 drum with later hub. One thing I didn't mention is that I have the rear end from that same donor car and it's stamped 72 as in V8-72 which is '36. And the guy who parted out the Matford clearly stated it was a '36 V8-72 because he had a '37...

    Wide five Id US/UK/France/Germany

Hello Sheldon, you don't see any pictures? Because I posted 6 and here's one more. Today I blasted the interior of the drums and found another number : 78-1106-C1 Again a weird number, in the Matford book they list a 78-1105-C1 that is a finned replacement for the '36 and up rear drum...

    Wide five Id US/UK/France/Germany

So if 68-1126 is just the drum for 1936, that would mean that somebody put them on a later hubs, maybe even the factory from 1937 to finish an old stock. I doubt that someone would go to the trouble of replacing just the drum, was it even available separately? Plus in Europe people didn't drive...

    Wide five Id US/UK/France/Germany

Hello, I'm trying to identify the origin of a pair of front- drums From what I was told they came off of a '36 Matford V8-72, part number should be 68-1105-A2 just like the US '36 Ford. But they're stamped 68-1126-B They have the star reinforcement like UK Ford Pilot But have the ribs...

    A coachbuild French Ford Delivery.

Since I have parts from my RPU that I won't be using and those are missing or need replacing on the delivery, I mounted them on it. The rear fenders are hand made and not esthetically pleasing : there's no wire, no body line, no reinforcements or bracket, they are also more squarish and the...

Thank you Brad, I didn't think at all about bulb horn since it's supposed to have the electric one, I didn't know about this part of the French law. To me bulb horns were on brass cars. I moved that panel to see what's going on behind and wonder if it's only a power wire that goes from the...

Some detailed pictures: The turn signals switch with the repeater light that was added most likely in the 50's at the same time they added those Citroën tail lights. I have no clue what that other switch is for, it's connected to the turn signal switch. I still have no clue what that hole is...

    Early '28 pickup assembly questions

Asnière started producing or assembling cars in 1929 after completion of the manufacturing plant. I have no clue if early A's had been assembled in Bordeaux after the T. My '28 doesn't have an Asnière tag like my '29. As far as I know the AA was the first to have such a plaque with a different...

    Early '28 pickup assembly questions

I emailed them, calling is not very practical there's an 8 hours difference. I missed the ebay auction, I guess the other bidder was using an auction sniper.

    Early '28 pickup assembly questions

Thank you for the link, it's a viable option since I have no answer from Bert's. Otherwise I'm gonna have to machine some parts, or abandon the idea of reusing the left side handbrake. That's the problem of buying a car that was partially taken apart and whose owner passed.

    Early '28 pickup assembly questions

Thank you, that's exactly what I was looking for. That's not an easy part to reproduce and that might be more hours than what I'm willing to spend on this, I suppose the ratchet teeth are hardened for wear. As Brent suggested, I'll try first with Bert's. At least I now know what the parts...

    Early '28 pickup assembly questions

Thanks, the Brookville body did come with 3/16" rivets for the body and I do the mock up with 5mm bolts. The bed came with 1/4" rivets and I'm mocking it up with 6mm bolts. I do drill the holes with 3/16" and 1/4" drill bits to be as close as possible to the rivet size. I drilled the chassis...
