I have #1140. I put 900 miles on it in the last month. Mine has the 6.5 C. R. head, and the Burtz Touring Camshaft. I also installed an FS Ignition top plate with the Manual A Distributor. Model B Carburetor. Plus the 26.6 % Mitchell. Runs strong.

Motometer Temp and inside Rex-A-Co Gauges, and now a SW50 PSI oil Pressure Gauge for the Burtz.

doesn't look bad at all. You need to see if the engine will turn over. Hope you have a hand crank.

I purchased an 8 fin Brass radiator for my '31 Coupe from CW Moss and it was a very good deal in my opinion.

Phenolic block helped mine quite a bit. When running the fuel is going into the engine fast enough that it doesn't boil in the carb, however if you stop and idle in traffic on a hot day, the fuel in the float bowl boils with the ethanol additive we are stuck with in California.

That is just the beginning. They tend to fail at the worst time. Then you will need a tow. I replaced mine with the aluminum version. One less problem.

Once you get used to the Mitchell, you will see the 2nd OD to 3rd direct as a natural progression, before shifting to 3 OD. It is much less complicated than it seems. Another possibility is to start in 1st direct, immediately shift to 1st OD at around 5 mph, then shift to 2nd OD at around 11-13...

Okay thanks for the photos, I will look at all my B carbs again, but I think they are all like the second photo. The one I am using now will surge up and down at a stop light when warmed up, and the GAV has to be played with, the biggest problem seems to be poor gasoline in California here.
