    Shade Tree Mechanic

The first engine I ever removed, I used a tree limb, two log chains, and two chain binders. Slow, but it worked, and I sure couldn't afford a chain hoist. If you're poor, you can get real creative.

Future of Collectible Cars.... something to think about

It's not just old cars that have investment "issues". I also collect antique clocks, firearms, furniture, etc. The upcoming generation just doesn't have the interest that us old folks have. Do I care? No, I buy things because I enjoy them -- and I couldn't care less what happens when I'm gone...

    Elec question from a beginner

Just do a trace of the primary wiring -- be sure the ground cable is really grounded. Also verify that someone has not installed a battery disconnect switch. Polarity is not your issue. Ray Rice

1931 Roadster, oil drip in reverse

I drive my roadster on average 50 miles per week -- trips to Lowes/Home Depot, ice cream, etc. runs fine, no problems. Doesn't seem to use any oil --I've topped it off with a half a quart in the past 4 months. (I know, that probably figures out to roughly a quart in 600 to 800 miles.) My...

    Macs closing

Well, I've never ordered from them directly, but recently I needed a starting crank for my roadster, so I bought one on eBay. It arrived very promptly and the shipping charge was nominal. It was shipped straight from Mac's. Your mileage may vary. Ray Rice in sunny Rifton

Charlie, thanks for the quick reply. My curiosity is satisfied, I can't imagine why I would want to install sidecurtains--this is a sunny day, top down, kind of vehicle. Ray Rice
