I used a Clings adapter for my 36 box. I've heard that you can rebuild them with 39 ford components but honestly I don't know. My good model a transmission was destroyed in the accident and the one from the donor vehicle needed a complete rebuild. So far I do like my 36 box

I've hit speeds of 75mph plus in my coupe with my Burtz block. Granted, I did add a stipe 340 cam a rocket 428 head and dual stromberg 81's. I still don't know what my top speed is and I'm glad I installed seat belts.

I've found its roughly 5mph difference and that was using my GPS.

You may also want to check your electrical connections in the charging circuit. I had the same issue and thought it was my generator and found 2 loose connections. One was at my Amp gauge and the other was at my terminal box. Went from 16 volts to 7.

Unity is still in business, if there driving lights are anything like their spot lights the parts are interchangeable with the newer stuff. That being said they may still make the original ones too, or they may even be able to do a factory rebuild.

Had a similar issue a couple of weeks ago. My coupe would start then die after about 5 minutes, it acted like a bad condenser. Used my meter and found .3 volts at the points after it warmed up. My wire in my armored cable ended up being the culprit
