New General Discussion Forum-International Ford Based Flathead Era

Your 1932 Ford 4 cylinders are the same car as a 1932 Ford V8, the only difference is the engine. For a 1932 Ford Model Y, the whole car is different. There would not be any point in trying to discuss details of a 1932 Ford Model Y on the V8 forum as nobody on there has got one. The sense of...

New General Discussion Forum-International Ford Based Flathead Era

Thank you for answering, Charlie. As you are the only one paying attention, I will try to convince you! The Ford of Europe range of cars from 1932 to the 1960s were scaled down versions of American Fords, known as the small sidevalves, they had the European small sidevalve engine which is...

New General Discussion Forum-International Ford Based Flathead Era

Hello, hello, can anybody hear me??? To go thru this again, Ford of Europe built their own cars from 1932 to the 1960s which were something like scaled down American Fords with an engine that was like a scaled down Model B 4 cylinder. These cars are Early Fords, but there is nowhere on Fordbarn...

New General Discussion Forum-International Ford Based Flathead Era

At the moment if you want to talk about an English 1934 Ford Model Y, which is like a scaled down American 34 Ford, or a German Ford Taunus, which looks like a scaled down Lincoln Zephyr, and numerous other early Fords from around the world, there is nowhere on Fordbarn to talk about them as...

New General Discussion Forum-International Ford Based Flathead Era

Can we have a new general discussion forum called something like International Ford Based Flathead Era please? This can cover the products and the ins and outs of all the Ford plants around the world. There were many different cars, trucks, models, bodies, engines, mechanicals, etc. UK had many...

Running Flatheads on Propane, LPG, CNG, Butane or any other alternative fuel

Its gotta haul ***! The more ponies the better! As stated, it can have a cam and carbs, the ridge in the intakes can soon be removed, and as long as the combustion chambers are not too massive, the compression should be able to be brought up, so heres hoping!

Running Flatheads on Propane, LPG, CNG, Butane or any other alternative fuel

Good point Ted, correct setup must make it work better. I have not gone into specifics of carb connection. They offer 2 kits, one for single carb and another for 2 carbs. I really need to obtain something like 100hp on LPG to make the idea workable. I would consider putting a cam and twin carbs...

Running Flatheads on Propane, LPG, CNG, Butane or any other alternative fuel

Thank you for the replies. I am in the UK where LPG is available in many places. The kit that Tom has mentioned is very reasonably priced and includes a tank. There is plenty of room to fit the tank on the BB. So the main problem would seem to be the lack of power as mentioned by Col. Thanks for...

Running Flatheads on Propane, LPG, CNG, Butane or any other alternative fuel

Thanks Tom, that would seem to be what I am looking for. Yes, forklifts with flatheads do fine on LPG, but what about Ford V8 flatheads, has anyone got one running on LPG? I saw a Ford Pilot with a flathead with LPG conversion some time ago, but I dont know how well it worked.

Running Flatheads on Propane, LPG, CNG, Butane or any other alternative fuel

Does anybody actually run a flathead on any fuel other than gasoline or petrol as it is called in UK? LPG stands for Liquid Petroleum Gas and is common in UK. CNG stands for Compressed Natural Gas. Some kits seem to be available for classic cars in general, but I cannot find anything specific...
