The LB denotes insert bearings as opposed to the earlier babbit, or poured bearings. Some call the LB a 'late' motor, but have also heard that babbit engines were sold throughout '36 as well as the LB stamped/insert bearing ones. Hope this helps. :-)
Thank you for those pics, I don't recall the tin work on the sides of the rad you show being there. Will have to shoot a pic of my radiator to see what I really have - it appears a match at the grille to the top, but those 4 brackets on mine have me stumped - these are not what the grille mounts...
This is a Sedan - which could explain why it 'appears' there was never a cover, at least not a metal one..... Would this be the same for Canadian as well as US? :-)
I need some good, close, detailed pics of a 1933 Ford car hood - the front latches or catches, and where the hood hinge meets the radiator. I have a complete hood that came with the car (whew!) but only have 4 (2 on each side) bars that come off the radiator and no latch parts at all. I am...
Wanted: Stainless trim for hood and grille (the small ribbed 'moustache' pieces - 4 on the bottom edge of hood and 4 on the grille) for 1940 Ford Deluxe. Would prefer nice used, but open to any. Good condition please. Pics a plus! Thank you, Tim :-)
Wanted - one rear door garnish molding for a 1939 Ford Convertible Sedan. Thought we had found one, but when it arrived was a front!! Thank you - Tim :-)
This particular car spent about 50 years in a barn in Alberta Canada, so it may be that it never had a metal cover, and the canvas one rotted away... Thank you for the info :-)
Doing a little more searching online found a couple of repro ones that may or may not be correct on 'that great big auction site' and on some parts sites, though there doesn't seem to be any provision for retainers on them. Looks like the part # might be 40-700326-C - they say it fits 1933...
Hello Ford Barn friends. I have what may seem to be a dumb question, but here goes: I have a '33 Ford Tudor Sedan body that I obtained a few years back. Very complete and solid, and it's soon to be mated to a complete and solid '33 chassis that had been parked since 1957 - yes it will be...
