Neither the 1935 nor the 1936 gas caps were originally vented. The vented filler neck on the 1936 model took care of the venting. The small tube inside the filler neck was structured to vent and if needed to release overfilled tanks below the topside of the fender. Some with better results...

I have a 1932 DeSoto that came with the Goodyear 700x15 airwheel on Detroit wooden spoke wheels. On the old tire the pressure was stated to be in the 13 pound range. I have toured over 1000 miles with new Firestone 700x15 tires @ 28 lbs and have never had a problem. GEG
