I started cutting my own helical gears for my small engines a number of years ago. 2 gears of the same diametral pitch and 45 degree helix angle produce 2 gears of the same outside diameter. I realized when making gears for my Ford 302 V8 engine that the cam gear and distributor gear are...
Could someone please tell me the tooth count and outside diameter of the oil pump drive gear? I'm creating a Model and I would appreciate the information.

Several of the last few internal parts for the engine, the starter bendix, the pressure plate and clutch disc. All that's left is the cam and valves but that's going to take some work to make the parts so they're operational.
Just a quick update on the progress of the 3D printed A with trans.
All the major structural components are finished. Items remaining, clutch, starter camshaft and valves. It's taken quite some time as tweaking of the part models has been necessary to get good fits. I made a stand for it to make...
Apparently there is a text examiner and it doesn't like the first three letters put together in the word meaning 'put together' so it exchanges them with asterisks.
The latest update on the A printed engine parts. I have the crankcase breather/oil fill tube and cap, The intake and exhaust manifolds and the water outlet. I think after ***embling the manifolds onto the block that the exhaust needs to come down a little. The lofting procedure in Solidworks is...
Slowly picking away at the parts. Modeled the generator for printing which means it was broken down into pieces that wouldn't have much support. The main body was printed from the flat end which eliminated most of the support material. The end plate was flat so that was good. The pulley just had...
I never built an A engine. Just not enough time but I did build an inline 4 cylinder engine. .750 bore and .875 stroke.
My trade was a metal patternmaker for the Ford Motor Company. When I started in the 60's they were just ending the castings for the industrial 4 cylinder 8N
As a teenager...
