Decoding info for Canadian ’52 F1

Decoding info for Canadian ’52 F1 There doesn't seem to be a lot of great information available for the Canadian built trucks. And I probably have too many questions for a single thread, but here goes nothing! 1st plate on the firewall shows Windsor Ontario MODEL - F1 TRIM - 13 PAINT-39...

    Best/Cheapest 6V Battery Charger

I tried two different 6/12v chargers but found they only had trickle charge for 12v. It won’t provide jump start power but I like the one I ended up with for trickle charge. CTEK (56-191) UC 800 6 Volt Fully Automatic 4 Step Battery Charger

    Radiator frame mount spring?

No 52 F1, sorry for the confusion. I thought it might be similar enough to help or even possibly use same spring.

    Radiator frame mount spring?

Here is what mine looked like from underneath, partially disassembled. There was only a thin pad between the radiator and frame.

Canadian Ford '52 F1 with 255 cu in

Well V8COOPMAN I am glad you asked. I'm not sure what I did previously but I just went and re-measured. It's a 239 after all. Thanks again everyone

Canadian Ford '52 F1 with 255 cu in

Thanks RalphG and V8COOPMAN. Seems likely that this is from a newer truck. The person I bought it from thought the previous owner had it rebuilt in the 80's, but didn't have any more information. I'm curious so I'll keep digging!

Canadian Ford '52 F1 with 255 cu in

I found this on itstillruns.com Measure the stroke. On the 221-, 239- and 255-cubic-inch engine, which cannot be differentiated by any other method, measuring the stroke identifies the engine as they both have different stroke measurements. Remove one of the cylinder heads and crank the engine...

Canadian Ford '52 F1 with 255 cu in

I've read that in the US the 255 was not offered on the Ford '52 F1. But I have not been able to find much information specific to Canada. I have a '52 F1 with what I believe is the 255 (4" stroke"). Does this mean the engine was swapped at some point?

Shipping car from Canada to US

I used US Canada Auto Transport, mostly happy although there was some delay mid way. After it crossed the border I was informed that they were waiting for a second driver to agree to bring it the rest of the way. It caused about a 1 week delay and apparently could have been much longer. It...

    flathead builder

Hoping to get this thread going again and a recommendation for a flathead builder / machine shop in Virginia, hopefully near Richmond. I recently purchased a Canada 52 F1 with a flathead V8, 4" stroke so I believe it is the 255. According to previous owner it was rebuilt around 1989. There...
