Does any one know the factory colors for the 41 thru 47 coe trucks that ford made. A friend of mine is trying to paint his 41 cab over engine dump truck plastic model for a high end train platform. Hope someone can help. Rich:confused:
OK--The tube came in and I fixed the flat. I was able to take a ride in the truck and this is how it went.(I did not drill holes in the thermostats.) The temp gauge did not bounce up and down this time but the gauge went up to 3/4 and stayed there the whole ride.It was 75 degrees at the time I...
OK-- I put the new single pole sending unit in and so far all seems to be ok at idel in the driveway. No time to take it for a ride. I had a flat tire and I had to order a new inner tube. I have the truck up on jack stands. Tomorrow I will be babysitting my mom. Later Rich
I got my replacement single pole sensor today and will try to install it tomorrow. I will take new lazor readings and also see what the dash gauge reads. I think my last lazor readings were 164 on one side and 185 on the other when the gauge was bouncing up and down. That was with the t-stats...
OK- The lazor gun tells me the engine is not overheating. I removed the thermostates and it is still the same. I ordered a new single pole temp sensor and when I test that I will let you fokes know. Thanks Rich
The first thing I am going to do is try a lazor pointer that I gust picked up to make sure it is not overheating. I did try bypassing the double pole sensor before by connecting both wires on one terminal and I got no reaing at all. I am going to remove the thermoststs and try it without them...
OK-- I took it for a ride today and it's back to where it was. The temp gauge went up to normal then down to (below cold) all the way to the left, then it went up to 3/4 and then back down. Rich
JSeey-- I do understand the wiring but is is a good idea for me to make sure that I have it correct. I will check my wiring. It not like I never made a mistake before. Thanks Rich
OK -- I went out and eliminated the double pole sensor and ran the engine till it was hot. Now I have no reading at all. I reconnected the double pole sensor and I am back where I started. Is it possible that the single pole sensor is bad and making the two sensors work together bad? Thanks Rich.
Thanks all so far. Let me explain a little more. When I say the gauge goes up and dowm I mean it goes to hot then down to very cold then back up to hot. It is like I have a bad connection but they all checked out ok. I do not know if I have a high flow stats in or not. I am going to try to...
