Couldn't turn torque tube upside down, speedometer gear would be out of place, I think he is talking about the front driveshaft bearing; not the center bearing

Some of the new ones, like mine only has a raised strip across the top; have to use pliers

Thought I should check the front bearing in the generator of our 38 coupe, had;nt checked for 10.000 miles; took it off and took it apart; still had some grease in it. cleaned it up and re-packed it; started putting back together; dropped the key behind the work bench. never to be seen...

Not a 40, our 38 conv had part of a body tag on drivers side firewall, when I got it, I asked Dennis Carpenter if he could make some; he said they did'nt have a tag

Why is the Times always over a month late?

S tarted our 38 dlx coupe and our 38 Conv. coupe after a 5 month sleep; each turned about 3 time and fired up, coupe has an electric fuel pump, primed the conv.

May be reproduction from J C Whitny, I put theirs on our 38 coupe, probably 40 years ago, they are smoothe on the back, no ridges

Our 38 dlx buss coupe had alow speed gear, didn't know what till I had 3-54 gears installed bynthe coumbia guys in Tennessee; found out it was a 4-44,someone probably switched it, or maybe was for running these WVa hills, sometimes you can't see the numbers on the housing, to much rust
