Touring Car Outdoor Year Round Storage Ideas

Another option for you is a car that needs a restoration. 5 years in the yard is not going to hurt a car that’s been deteriorating for 99 years. Get a rough car that needs work and bring it back. Or.... An engine hogs head project..... Get a Model T engine going on a stand..... You may can...

Touring Car Outdoor Year Round Storage Ideas

George Number 1.... It’s not a “toy” it’s a real car but only more so. Cars, all cars will kill you very quickly. They are not to be taken lightly. It’s a lot like a 200 year old flintlock musket rifle or pistol. Old fashioned yes. Old timey, but just as deadly. You want to get a 110 year...

Help with old Mallory zb 275

I got it out. Blowing in that welch plug hole with the advance hole plugged. Air blows out the bottom of the distributor. Pulling a vacuum...air sucks in through the bottom of the distributor. It appears that the vacuum stuff has been removed, if it ever had any. I guess the best bet is to see...

Untitled by Travis Brown, on Flickr It's threaded right there for what I assumed was a vacuum port. It's really interesting.

Help with old Mallory zb 275

It has both. Mechanical advance and a vacuum brake. My understanding is the vacuum brake is not really "vacuum advance" but it's a "buffer"...so to speak that works with the mechanical advance in this model.

    F1 truck MC bench bleed

Pretty much impossible on that design master cylinder. Think about it, the fluid is going to run out when you make the connection and you'll have to bleed it again anyway. The only thing accomplished is a mess.

    1949 Ford State Police car

1949 was a long long time ago. It was a different world. I dare say most "police cars" were standard sedans. Some of the police cars from that era may not have had a radio. If they did it was a receiver. There would be "radio cars" with a transmitter that could call the receiver cars. In...

    Cooling system help needed

Brad, Did you notice a smell of gasoline or exhaust in the radiator? Years ago my 50 did what you describe, blowing the water out. It was a cracked cylinder. That engine would run cool at idle all day long. If you put it under load, the water jacket would pressurize and blow coolant out of...

    8ba Head Replacement

First thing.... If the damage to the heads is visual crack damage I would insist that the block be magnafluxed. If the heads froze and cracked.....usually the block does too somewhere. The earlier 59A style Pre-49/48 24 stud heads will fit with little modification. This gives you some more...
