i an running stock lights (with no other electronics) and have an old original cut out, contacts look good, does it need to be grounded to the gen?

Any one repair a leak at the steering bracket to fuel tank. It just seeps alittle, the old rivets must have lost their grip. might try a little weld or putty. Its a 29, not show quality, just a driver. Any suggestions before i hack at it.

Last week i posted my overheating probloms. i double checked timing, tightend the fan belt, used all h20, and corrected the water level and it stiil ran hot. so i pulled the radiator and ran the garden hose through it from the bottom and could see the black flaky chunks run out. i repeatedly...
