    40 ford window installation

With fortyfords description I was able to do the job (well, one side anyways!), so I thought I'd add to this thread with a full explanation and some photos, so the next guy searching for the this operation would have it all: First, I tried putting the rubber on the glass, then installing them...

1940 Rear side window install help

Can anyone point me to some instructions on installing the glass into/onto the regulators in the rear side of the 40 Standard? I put in new felts and runners today, but am unsure which way the glass and channel goes into and onto the regulators. I don't want to scratch it guessing! I've been...

    Calling all charging system guru's!

I went through this 6V BS run-around pecker-pulling for about 6 years with my 46 MErc truck until FINALLY, last year, I switched over to a 12V system. It took about 2 hours - most of that building a little bracket strap to go over the new 12V Alternator. Now I have a truck that starts SO FAST it...

Why you should drop the pan

Would have been interesting to measure how much liquid oil (lets say less than 20/50) vs sludge remained. Looks like at least half was now sludge, which would be like running an engine on 2.5 quarts of useable oil....

HELP ME: Vent window seal installation

THANKS Kube - that sounds easy. Now for the details - are you saying to slice the rubber to get it over the pivot bracket after it's riveted to the frame? EDIT - in looking at it more it looks like the seal may go AROUND the hinge piece once it's riveted to frame...no slicing.

HELP ME: Vent window seal installation

Hey guys, I was trying to figure out how the seals that go on the window surrounds install and THINK I know what I should do, but want to make sure first. The vents hinge gets riveted to the frame and it would seem that the only way to get the seal to sit properly would be to split it and push...

I really need some help on my 37

I just went through all this on my 53 Flatty (in my 46 Mercury truck). After similar suggestions and advice, I changed out all the ignition parts: condensor, cap, rotor and wires - which were needed. It then ran well for a while until I went on a longer ride and it happened again, no power, felt...

What I Did on My Lunch Hour

That is as funny as it TRUE! I just tripped over this thread and had to comment - it's fantastic! When in the thread did you move to Florida? We have discussed it as one retirement idea as well. As you said: land near swamps - and now around sink-holes ;) - is cheap! Have you ever heard of that...

    Who changed the clocks ????

I live in the GREAT province of Saskatchewan, where our leaders have decided we won't be followers, so no time change for us..... Unfortunately, since everyone around us changes, we're confused all year!

    INCREDIBLE Flathead swap SAGA

Thanks for looking guys..... still breaks my heart to see it sittin' in the corner. The newer engine runs like a top and I have another 221 block ready to be mag'd - hope for the best! I think if it's good and I rebuild it it will become a display-only piece in my shop!

Who all has checked in -----

Great new site - moving too fast though yet (like the HAMB). Hopefully some decent threads come up and it slows down a bit.
