    what goes here?

well i looked behind it as best i can and no wires or anything that makes it look like some sort of switch. the very center of this is threaded like a stop or bumper screwed into it. there are no screws holding it on as you can see. i figured it was something to help keep the doors from...

    Some Old License Plates

I have a 1930 plate I would like to put on the front of my car. But to put it to the light bar....well it is so big. Are there any brackets sold to mount to the front bumper or another place, rather than covering the radiator? Thanks

    installing new waffle manifold

well the job finally appears to be over. got everything hooked back up and it seems to be leak-free. thanks to all for the tips and info. of course it got up to 67 here today so not much need for a heater at this point.

    installing new waffle manifold

Thanks I did notice it was tight to slide in there and out. And yes this iPad does jump to words sometimes when I misspell. Sorry about that. Took the manifold and the intake to a machine shop this morning.

thanks to all. great tips and nice to have an idea on the torque. the manifold bottles just did not seem very tight to me when i took them off.but no exhaust leaks... so guess it was fine.

    installing new waffle manifold

started my job of changing to the waffle manifold heater. pulled the old one off and got the new one painted. a couple of questions i was hoping to get answered. 1) how tight do you all torque your manifold bolts? 2) while pulling apart, there were three of the seals in between the exhaust...

    auto-lite heater

went to Hershey this year for the first time. All I can say is "it's impressive!" and that is in all aspects. While there I bought an Auto-lite Manifold heater. the cover is going to need to be cleaned up and painted. Looking at the cover it looks like it may have been black at one time...

    Hershey

I saw something that said parking was plentiful on the main road in. guess I will chance that. we should arrive mid-morning Thursday so I thought I might go right to the lodge and check out the RM auction cars. they have a 31 sport coupe listed and I wanted to see it in person. then since we...

    Hershey

Hope this is in the right place... first time headed to the show. Coming in on Thursday and headed out Saturday. Not sure how much time it takes to get thru all of the swap meet. but was looking for some suggestions on a plan of attack. Also wondered how many on here may have a spot there and...

    Oil pan gasket

I ended up putting a small bead of permatex to the block and sticking the Gaskets on. I had to trim one of the tabs so it would fit in the groove for the rear seal. Good reason to dry fit first. I did soak the rear seal because it was cork. I can see the reasoning for the all-thread but you...

    Oil pan gasket

Permatex says to let it sit an hour before tighening. I assumed so it would harden a little and not squeeze out when tightening. Keeping a little thickness that would compress when you tighten the bolts.
