    Clutch not disengaging properly?!

I already answered that question in post #5... The lever on the outside of the pedal is fine! I haven't been able to check the clutch housing yet. Andy

    Clutch not disengaging properly?!

Thank you all for your contributions. Unfortunately, I don't have much time to reply. Work is long and my free time is limited. I can't lower the idle speed any further. It's already so low that the engine almost stalls. That shouldn't be the problem. I'll take a look at the service...

    Clutch not disengaging properly?!

The problem occurs every time I engage or shift gears! I'm aware of the double-clutching due to the lack of synchronization and I do use it. Despite this, it still happens. Even when I try to shift from neutral! It also happens when shifting from 3rd to 2nd, or 2nd to 1st and vice versa, despite...

    Clutch not disengaging properly?!

Hi everyone. For about two or three years now, I've been having a problem where the clutch doesn't seem to be disengaging properly. I can't shift gears smoothly anymore. Every time I try to shift at a stoplight, it makes a loud noise, and people are giving me strange looks. It's just not fun...

    Buy flow tested carburetor jets?

So, after a year and further problems, I finally rode a relatively long tour today. 213 kilometers... (Otherwise only short stretches of less than 80km.) The car runs great, absolutely without any problems and the consumption was an incredible 13.4L/100km. Rennert's nozzles are absolutely...

Backfire, I'm running out of ideas...

Soooo, another new day, screwed on again. After cleaning the carburettor completely in the ultrasonic bath yesterday, I reinstalled it today. With my neighbors, also vintage car drivers, we built a float-level display to check this. When assembling the carburettor, I immediately removed my...

Backfire, I'm running out of ideas...

Soooo, new day, new try. Today I completely disassembled the carburetor. It is currently in the ultrasonic bath for cleaning. Will take a while. In parallel, I took my Tillotson carburetor out of storage and assembled it to test it. I had to realize that it must be a Model B carburetor...

Backfire, I'm running out of ideas...

So... I tried to adjust the carburetor. I turned the idling screw almost out so that the throttle valve was almost closed. Engine ran very, very slowly. Nevertheless, adjusting the idle mixture screw brought very little. But it was already having a small effect. Nevertheless, it popped out of...

That's a mistake I've been thinking about too. My armored cable is in similar bad condition. But my question is whether the problem shouldn't also be misfiring while driving / accelerating?! That's definitely not!?

Backfire, I'm running out of ideas...

I'll go after that again today. I removed the throttle body to clean it. It also showed that it is easy to move. However, it is open a small gap for the idle air. Does the flap to adjust the idle mixture screw have to be 100% closed? Then I'll check again today. @daveymc29, I already have a...

So definitely the seal/connection intake/exhaust manifold is tight. This was sprayed with brake cleaner. Between the manifold and the exhaust he could get a minimal amount of secondary air. Since I haven't installed a centering sleeve here yet (it's already here.), it's possible that the seal...

Backfire, I'm running out of ideas...

One more note from me. Before replacing the carburetor jets, the engine was running far too rich. The problem was sooty spark plugs and valves/cylinder heads. In the meantime I did a 200km test drive with a friend's loaner carburetor. This burned away all the black charcoal residue and fuel...

I already wrote above. The capacitor isn't old yet, but it was measured anyway and it's OK. It's not because of these. Spark plugs are also new. Only the breaker contact would have to be renewed, but this is apparently not very old either.

Hi guys, my A is giving me some problems. It's consuming too much and backfiring on coasting/decelerating. What has been checked so far... A pressure drop test was done which showed no problems. Inlet valves, outlet valves, piston rings were tight. The engine got a new head gasket. A visual...

Head gasket modern style has wrong silicone insert!!!

So, I actually got all the stud bolts out without any damage. As for the new bolts... do you use the normal ones, or do you use high-strength bolts? It is a stock engine with stock compression.
