How many miles are you getting from your universals? After 5k mi, mine are almost half worn.

What did the core cost? When did you purchase it? and who did you purchase it from? As I understand it, Maine Radiator only sells through distributors/ commercial customers.

I had a similar experience a few years ago at an estate auction. Pallets with 5+ complete engines each selling for no more than $100. Most of the buyers took the best looking one off the pallet and let the auctioneers scrap the rest.

Probably best to find a new casting at that point. Should it be the last one on earth, you could bore it out and make a sleeve.
