This is how you sell a Model T

Yes, you are certainly correct. There is also a 24' Touring on the same website that has the same patina. Can anyone tell me the purpose of the front bar attached between the two front fenders? Not a light support since it does not connect.

    Oil Extractor

Thanks everyone for the ideas and suggestions. I think I might give it a try. I can always use it on some of my more modern cars. Does anyone have experience with an electrical extractor pump vs. the vacuum canister type? I am wondering why you would need the canister type when you could simply...

    Oil Extractor

Now that I've become all crippled up in my old age, I have been spending time trying to come up with different methods of being able to service my cars. One item that looks promising is an item that is referred to as an "Oil Extractor." This is normally used I am guessing on more modern cars...

    Model A shocks

As Dick M said, John Holland in Ohio is the way to go. Had him do my shocks in 2017 and 3000 miles later they are still doing their job. Before having them done, my Town Sedan was a real handful as far as handling. Now I feel confident cruising at 45 mph plus. Before that, anything over 35...

    Why does it Lean?

I think Paul Shinn had a good idea on this subject. Every time you get out on the drivers side, go over to the passenger side and stand on the running board. If your springs are good, you will help alleviate the memory of the drivers side lean by doing so. I have found this to be true on many...

    $56,000. Model A Speedster

Where are these buyer's when I need to off something??? I follow Bring A Trailer daily. It seems for the most part, vehicles on BAT, sell for a premium. Maybe it is just the excitement of the auction. Unfortunately, I am starting to think that BAT has become the most popular place to buy and...

    New Gas

Here in the mountains of Central Commiefornia, we just posted $6.00 per gallon. Most likely we'll be at $7.00 before the end of the week. Now I can understand how the rest of the world feels. On my way down to buy some of that 'NEW' gas before it's all gone.

    Muffler Heat Deflector

Did the Model A come originally with a muffler heat deflector? Just found the source of my awful rattling sound thinking it to be the radiator rock shield which I just took off. Ended up being a broken rear bracket on a heat deflector. If these deflectors are not original, are they necessary...

    NAPA CS30 Points

katy, ndnchf, That is what I needed to know. The points that I just put back in do not have those markings. I can not find any marks on them at all. They appear to have a plastic rubbing block. The Napa CS30 points are pictured below. The block lasted 612 miles.

    NAPA CS30 Points

katy, The only thing I can come up with is the rubbing block must be made out of a poor material. My cam, which is also a "B" cam, is nice and smooth. The points that I took off, still have a very nice rubbing block on them and they have at least 1400 miles of use. I ended up putting them back...

    NAPA CS30 Points

Does anyone have a picture of a set of original points? I am not talking about what is currently out there. I am talking about actual 1930's points. The Napa/Echlin points that I purchased within the last year are of the proper length. That length being 1.210 inch from center of point head to...

    NAPA CS30 Points

The Echlin points that I bought a couple of years ago as back up fit well. The rubbing block looks like a cork material. What it's actually made of I have no idea. The rubbing block was toast in 612 miles. Like "katy" recommended, I might try another cam lube like lube grease or Vaseline. I had...

    NAPA CS30 Points

The NAPA, or should I say, the Echlin CS30 points, are the proper length of 1.210 from center pivot point to the center of the point contact. The material used for the rubbing block, looks like some type of fiber. The points that I had replaced, showed no real wear after 1400 miles and they have...

    NAPA CS30 Points

Purchased some points from NAPA a few months ago. Installed them in the car since I was having some issues that ended up being the pigtail wire once again. Just went to set the point gap for the 3rd time in 612 miles and the rubbing block is so far gone that the points arm is arching to the cam...

    Best/Cheapest 6V Battery Charger

Battery Tender by Deltran. By far the best battery charger and maintainer I have ever used. Like everything else, the price has gone up. But you can get a Battery Tender Plus 1.25 Amp Charger/Maintainer that does both 12 or 6 Volts from Walmart for $50.00 right now. Sometimes I see them at...
