You said that the carb had been 'stopped up' how did it get that way? Did you solve that problem? How? Filter? Clean tank?

Suggest you remove dabpe from car--Work the cable with penetrating oil them engine oil untel you free it up

Suggest that you examine the area around the filler for possible leak into passenger area. Also the drain hose which should carry any overflow to the ground.

My motors manual shows oil up to shaft thru next to last support stand and return thru the others. Do not recall this engine but some had a special bolt it supply position.
