    1930 Roadster

I used a needle to place strong thread every 1/2 inch along the curved and cowl panel areas to draw the welt into place. Have the thread long enough to be pulled from the inside. This also works for fender welt. just clip the excess thread when done.

    Cowl Band Reconditioning

I am sure that more than one of the FB members have reconditioned an original cowl band. Would anyone care to share your method, tools, tips for what to avoid and any other pertinent information that you may have for the process. Pictures of your work or a video would be of great value. I...

    Shipping a Model A?

If you consider driving your vehicle somewhere and renting a U Haul trailer to tow a vehicle back home, I suggest that you check a local U Haul dealer as to suitability of your tow vehicle to handle the trailer and car load.

Illegal to have only one tail light in NC?

Understanding the comments as to legal or not, my thought is with the drivers on the road today and the rather bright taillights on modern cars that most are accustomed to seeing, even the brightness and location of two original Model A taillights are totally inadequate on todays roads.

    Upholstry

If you are considering a used machine, I suggest that you stay away from a commercial type machine with a clutch motor, those things run continuous and at speeds not meant for inexperienced upholstery work. Go for a walking foot machine with a servo motor. This type machines are much easier...

    Moving bench seat

You may want to explore the idea of having an upholstery shop replace the seat and back springs on the original base with webbing and high density foam and recover with new material. That will preserve the original configuration if it is ever desired to return the seats to original.

Building a 28-29 Closed cab extended pickup???

Sounds like you are looking to build a modified or hot rod style of car. Before you embark on the project there are a few things I suggest you consider. Do you have a nice roomy shop building to work in and leave the project protected when you are off doing other things? Do you have the tools...

    repainting 30 tudor

Find a paint shop that will paint the car, that in itself may not be easy, they will tell you what needs to be done to the body and fenders for them to apply a new coat of paint. My opinion is the fenders and hood will need to be painted off the car to get complete coverage. Be leery of body...
