    Starter Problems

As Talwrench states. I have a regular driver that had a stuck bendix. The symptoms were exactly as you describe. No noise, no start, no nothing! Put the car in high gear and then rock it back and forth. If you hear a pop it's the bendix releasing. It will then start. Worked for me. If...

    Signal Stat 900

Turn signals have been working fine for years and suddenly just quit. No signal lights or emergency flashers or pilot lights. Checked inline fuse to switch - good. Checked power to flasher plug - good. I use original cowl light bulbs for the front, LEDs in the rear, and an electronic flasher...

    ad nauseum-pun intended..............

Hagarty's Drivers Club has a good classified. You have to join the club to list but the listing is free. The club starts at $45 but includes a decent magazine, some towing, etc. and no sales commission. You might give it a look. https://www.hagerty.com/marketplace

    Shock Arm 1935

Steve, Good idea. I hadn't thought of that. In the mean time, I noticed that it appears that the shaft had been staked with a punch to retain the arm. I put the arm back on and re-staked around the perimeter with a center punch. I couldn't get a very powerful swing with the hammer, but we...

    Shock Arm 1935

I do have a stick welder. Anyone know what metals I'd be dealing with here? Cast or forged? Would 6013 rod work? If weldable, I'd think a couple of short beads just to keep it from sliding off and so as to not overheat the shock. Comments please from someone that knows more about welding than I!

    Shock Arm 1935

Did a lube job and noticed this on the right front shock. The rear shock arms have a clamp bolt arrangement to retain them but this looks like it was swadged on. Is this repairable, or do I need a new shock?

    35 Jack

Steve, To answer your question about how it works, I tried extending mine while pulling up on the jack pad rather than letting gravity push down. Another telescoping tube engaged and it extended twice as far as the first attempts. I'm still going with a modern jack for the roadside though.

    For bias-ply guys

A year ago I bought European Classic 600X16s for my 35. They have several dealers across the country and are less expensive than the reproduction Firestone or Goodyear. They are manufactured in Europe, not Viet Nam, and certified by the European equivalent of our DOT. I bought mine from Jay...

    Engine Swap

Thanks to all that replied. Always valuable information here! My plan would be to buy this one at a good price and keep it as a spare for when needed. I will run the original engine for as long as it runs well. The existing engine has 90 PSI compression and 40 PSI oil pressure when cold, but...

    Engine Swap

I have a 35 ford with the original engine, which is still running well, but showing low oil pressure and excessive wear in the oil analysis. I have an opportunity to buy another engine. I need your help regarding the identity and specifics of the replacement engine and the suitability of this...

    Gas shut off valve options

    Gas shut off valve options

Stainless ball valve from Amazon. Harder than brass so less prone to damage and downstream from paper filter so won't be subject to as much grit from tank. Won't work well for a judged car but works every time for a driver.

    New to me '35 Fordor

Steve, Nice looking car. I too have a Model A and a 35 and live at Lake Anna. I've had the 35 for about a year. If you haven't already seen it, here is an interesting video about another Virginia 1935: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5TGe97L7RUs&t=90s Maybe we could meet for coffee...
