These hand operated wipers really work! I replaced the rubber with some stuff used on squigees and it worked even better

    Stromberg, Red's Headers, 32 B Motor, '30 Roadster

EMF nailed it! Issues with the Weber 32/36 are generally the inability to open the secondary port. I've been running those carbs for 15 years with no issues. The secret is simply using quality adjustable linkage parts and not being afraid to bend the A throttle arm.

    Powder Coat vendors

When it comes to powder painting Model A spoke wheels, that price is not out of line. Cutting corners or looking for a cheap price for powder painting will produce a crappy finished job.

    Pinto engine conversion

Not often I agree with Brent, but he's right about the price of Pinto engine parts. Speedway Motors offers a lot of speed equipment for these engines as there are lots of race tracks that promote pony stock racing. When I built the 1800cc Mazda/Courier engine, I had over $1600 in the Weber side...

Re: Brake drum (axle) retainers for Model A Mechanical raking Speedway Motors has those.

Building a 28-29 Closed cab extended pickup???

Check out my avatar. You do not need a 6,000 sq ft shop and have 20 years of metal working experience to build an extended cab 28-29 CCPU. I had the cowel and bought used doors. New cab corners are extended 6-1/2" and also bought new upper and lower rear cab panels. Also purchased individual...

    29 Smaller Steering Wheel

You might try the HAMB for a source that cuts down steering wheels. I've seen cars there that have smaller diameter wheels

Current status of centrifugal advance distributors

Follow up on the Per-Lux Ignitors/Petronix: This distributor was originally designed for stationary engines running 24/7 and fork lifts. First automotive use was for VW Baja racers. Micky Remund, engine builder for Micky Thompson, cut a deal with Per-Lux to create a line of products for early...

    There's no profit in it...

I have bought and sold a 1948 Chrysler Town & Country convertible, a 1947 Pontiac Station wagon and a 1948 Chevrolet with the factory authorized dealer installed wood trim kit. I made good money on those transactions and it had a lot to do with timing. The common denominator here is that these...

    Argumentive Aspects

The recent post on the stock market vs Model A appreciation left an opening the size of a double garage door. I read the original WSJ story and something got lost in the translation. Even though I took a beating on my post, I stand by it.

23 year old engineer invested in a 1931 Ford Model A instead of stocks. And WON!

Watched again Paul and I stand by my post. You’re the one that implied that buying a Model A was better then the stock market

23 year old engineer invested in a 1931 Ford Model A instead of stocks. And WON!

I remember reading this in the WSJ when it first appeared. I think that the inference that investing in a Model A instead of stocks is a bit misleading.

    gas tanks.........

There’s a big difference between the corporations building tanks for Speedway and somebody reproducing tanks in their shop located in a residential area.
