Just a heads-up
With regard to the new Reproduction fully assembled 1928/29 Model A Headlamps.
Mine was assembled with focus adjustment screws (2 inch long) that are 1 inch longer than originals.
The long screw will likely short the terminals on center bulb socket to ground
As mine did...
Just an FYI only... no idea if relevant.
On a side note I was told by Snyders that door knobs they sold would not work with fordor cars with external lock as result of the door profile.
Thanks.
It creates such a mess..even behind the speedometer. The cable is also missing a stay on the speedometer end. Something is just not right about the entire cable and given some of the less then desirable repairs from the past I have had to resolve... decided to replace the entire cable
Update...
I added one additional step that I did not do before.. flushed the grease (it was thick) out of the speedometer cable and gear assembly and oiled both.
Will see..
Looking for advice on a reoccurring issue where from what I can determine my Speedometer cable is pumping up grease/oil from U -Joint into speedometer.
First thought was over greasing the U joint but I am not sure what that even is as when it was greased it did not flow out at that time...
I have a spin-off question and/or assumption.
The bag is small so I assume the other tools were just tossed under the seat?
If under the seat the tools would just rattle around on the floor pan?
Any ideas?
The Briggs 60C did indeed have an adjustable front bench seat.
Our 60C was missing the original seats so I do not have 100% image of what the mechanism looked like.
Research and looking at old photos the dial (Adjustment Knob) and brackets look identical to same components found on the 30...
Thanks.
I had it originally mounted on the Piller.
I found a few photographs yesterday in Model A books and it appears that for the four door cars the windlace was indeed mounted on the door ... same as yours.
I will say what a pain to install especially if door panels are not original. Many...
Q. 1929 Fordor Windlace for the Front Doors, Mounting Location. Is the front lateral windlace strips that are parallel to cowl panels/Front Window Pillers mounted to the door or on the side with the panels/Pillers.
I have some remaining material artifacts that indicate on our car it was mounted...
That is a good question. I would like to hear comments on this as well.
With standard nut and lock washers I had an issue keeping them from loosening up and avoiding misaligned the doors from being tight enough.
For now I have modern lock nuts installed for which I would like to avoid using.
The font of your stamped number looks identical to mine, especially the number "4"
Same length of number as well.
Being in Michigan and yourself California I do not see any correlation but so many years have passed.. so who knows
I think the font used for "4" is the next hint.
Funny thing...
