I agree that a proper carb and fuel pump should work but my Charlie-rebuilt carb and KEM fuel pump are not providing fuel to start my stock 51 Merc after it sits a week. At my age of 84 I can't replace either one, so I am giving up and want an electric pump to get it started after it sits a week...
