    1929 Special Coupe top

I have a restored 1928 Special Coupe and three of us did the top. We did the rear section first and the kit came from Classtique on a hot day in August I also helped Hunter Fanney do his 1929 Special top. It is critical to line up the seams so they run straight from top to bottom and line up...

    Wood Body Mount Block Question

The longer body block is intended for cars that have a rumble seat. Having people seated in the rumble seat adds weight beyond the end of the frame. Dave

28/29 Tudor Front Seat Hinge pin CLIP

Hello Bob, I bought the longer clevis pins so I could chuck them up in my hand drill on the shaft beyond where I filed the heads, clip groove and tapers. The diameter of the spring wire was .100 inch that I got from an original clip. It fits very nicely in the 1/8 inch diameter groove. I have...

28/29 Tudor Front Seat Hinge pin CLIP

I made two pins by using 3/8 inch diameter clevis pins, my hand drill mounted in my bench vise. I bought the clevis pin stock from my local hardware store that were 1 and 1/2 inches long and had a single hole at the end. The pin head is round and about 1/8 inch wide. The pin head needs to be...

28/29 Tudor Front Seat Hinge pin CLIP

I just made some of the pins and clips for a friend. I found a spring that is about .100 inch in diameter and annealed the spring with a torch. I then cut off a section of the spring long enough to go around the groove in the pin. It was easy to bend the piece around a drift pin about the same...

    Secondary Well zenith carb

The early dual venturi carburetors made by both Zenith and Holley did not have a removable brass secondary well and therefore no threads were in the lower half. The main and cap jets are usually in a straight line from front to back and there might be pin boss/s that were used to retain the dual...

    28-29 Sport Coupe belt trim

They were being reproduced by Tony Raffin and I think Snyders was selling them. The company that made the dies for him went out of business and Tony never got his dies back. These reproductions had the two pieces however they did not have the slight contours and the sides and rear. Dave

    Bob Bidonde Powerpoint slides

To add to the above. Bob has also done many illustrations that are contained in the Restoration Guidelines and Judging Standards. The Greater Baltimore club was fortunate to have Bob as a member while he was working in Maryland. Dave

    Powerhouse Generator

The Model A Ford Restoration and Maintenance Handbook Volume two by Paul Moller has some good information on these early generators. There are two ball bearings inside and the replacements being sold by some of the vendors are sealed. You may want to check the brushes as both five and three...

    Milwaukee Plant

Jeff, 1. I am not certain the R was used by the Milwaukee plant. 2. If you looked at my e mail from July 12th 2015, it contained ALL R numbers I had. 3. Agree with your eye statement.

Ford Model A Window quarters ID?

They are 1928 or 1929 as used on the Special Coupes. The Special Coupe replaced the Standard Coupe on 10 July 1928 and production ran until July 1929 when Ford returned to the Standard Coupe. The recess behind the quarter window is for the top molding that was only used on the Special Coupes. Dave
