    3:27 or 3:54 ??

I would think it depends on terrain as indicated above as well as if you are planning on doing any "Parade Crawls".. You'll wear out your knee constantly taking it in and out of gear in a long parade.. Touring on the flats would be a hoot though ;)

    Complete Borg Warner Overdrive

Hi, I have a Borg Warner Overdrive that was taken out of a Touring Model A that I was going to use in a Model A based hot-rod project, but changed plans and had to sell the project. It is a turn-key overdrive. It has all parts, stem to stern to replace a model A torque tube. The lockout is...

Another BS scam for my AA Truck

Having been in Malaysia, I seriously doubt that the buyer would be able to import it, much less get the govt papers on it.. They are very restrictive on what vehicles go into the country. Only US vehicles I have ever seen there are a handful of Harleys 1st Red Flag-- Malaysia.. Too...

Hi Joe, Thanks for the correction :o Did not dig too deeply and was hoping it may have been a clue to our issue. Best Regards, Dave

    buyer's beware #2

Hi All, Did a quick look-around and found this.. http://www.legacy.com/guestbooks/visaliatimesdelta/guestbook.aspx?n=richard-snell&pid=167172335&cid=full Looks like A Richard Snell from Lakeland FL passed away.. Not sure if the same person, but it's a possibility.. Could be a reason for...

    float crushed from altitude change?

I would never hesitate to do business with Berts. They have always been a class act and have likely forgotten more about 'A's than I'll learn. They even talked me out of parts that would not solve the problem I was having. My 2 cents :) - Dave in Boise

    Speedometer Troubleshooting question

Hi All, Over this summer, both of my cars have had their speedometers stop working 1) The coupe stopped after I had to pull out the dash and replace the ammeter.. Can the cable pull short out of the speedo end, or did flexing it perhaps cause the inner cable to snap? 2) The Tudor just...

    What's causing this carbon buildup...

Maybe too obvious, but perhaps a bit too much MMO or other Fuel additive? I would suspect that for a short trip under 15 or so miles, the cylinder temps may not be getting hot enough to burn out any oily residue from a fuel treatment. Hope it helps :) - Dave

Run a Model A on 100 percent ethanol

I have run my A on e85 before on a whim when I had a flex fuel truck.. I figured out if it did not like it, I could drain the tank into my flex-fuel vehicle, so no harm, no foul. Well, it ran, but did not have nearly the power and I had to change the setting on my GAV quite a bit to get it to...

    Where should I mount this?

I mounted mine on the drivers side of the coil by lengthening the wires and using a 1" single leg conduit clamp painted black from the firewall mount screw for the coil. Easy to get to if you want to change it out, and unless looking for it, might be mistaken for a part of the ignition system

    Vapor lock

I kind of envision a percolator.. the pressure of the vaporizing fuel must be enough to offset the 1-2 psi of the gravity, or at least enough of it to slow the fuel to a point of starvation..

    distributor play

there are 2 types of play.. Rotational (twist the rotor clock and counter-clockwise) which will give you an idea of timing play and slop in your distributor gear and midshaft. This is generally pretty common to have 5-10 degrees of play. This can be fixed by replacing the distributor shaft(s)...

    Vapor lock

so, not to stir this up to much, would having a larger diameter fuel line allow the air or vapor bubble the opportunity to burp out more easily, and allow liquid fuel to flow to the carb in a vehicle with this issue?
