Finally done! Massive job in the end as exposing the clutch showed oil in there from a not properly installed oil pan rear seal (oops (that was me when replacing welsh plugs)big lesson learnt). So the pan had to be dropped again and re installed this time fitting that rear seal to the engine...
When you mention remove the trans stick, do you mean remove the stick and top plate together (and cover the hole)?
I imagine it would be worth removing the fly wheel and getting this machined whists its out? To match the nice new clutch.
An I correct in saying dropping the trans, rather than lifting it? Will need the car jacked up Im guessing to move it out of the way a bit once dropped.
Holy crap. Thank you for taking the effort to post that. Looks like its going to be quite the effort to do that clutch. I cant help wonder if its easier to pull the engine!
Hey guys,
Im looking to replace the clutch and have been advised you can pull the back end rather than the motor. Could someone give me a basic run down so I know what Im in for. Diff, torque tube, gearbox?
Dameon.
Okay, so the coupe is running really well after all the help from you guys and now one of the new water pumps has started to leak pretty badly. Now, these were installed before I got this replacement engine and dropped it in. I also have two brand new ones from my pervious changed out motor...
