Wait.... There where Eye bolts around the bed? Can we start a thread all about the eccentricities of the 37 1/2 ton flatbed?
And yes, it was the two cage nuts and the photos I took in the forum didn't post..... Lost to the ether

I finally got around to changing the wood on my flatbed frame risers and I just noticed the rather inconspicuous threaded holes in the bed within the fender cutouts. Any idea what might have went there or could it be aftermarket? One has been filled partially.

I do it on the regular, and sometimes just for fun.
The real bugger was getting it started with only the hand crank at 2am for two weeks while I was waiting for the new starter to come in and it was my only transportation to work. I got pretty darn good at it.
I consider myself pretty average...
I had a feeling that might be the case, but I'm still exceptionally green in Diagnostics.
Thank you for clearing that up for me.
of course that was an impossible search for google, only giving basic crank no start results.
I replaced all the wiring about 4 years ago with the cw moss cloth set...
Hey Barn,
I need a super sleuth on this one,
I keep my 59ab driven 37 pickup plugged in over night on a trickle to compensate for a weak generator..... (I will deal with that at a later time..... said 5 years ago). When I get ready to start, I will unplug, let it sit for a bit and go to start...
That's great, thank you.
I see you used slotted screws and square nuts to hold together the stakes. Is that based off an original or creative license?
I just assumed they would be riveted

I didn't clarify my question on the panel. Wether or not it's sheet metal or plywood and what thickness either way.

So I finally went ahead and made them.
I know they are quite a bit taller than original, but I'm very happy with the way they turned out. I went with free scrap wood from my lumberyard, so it's all Doug fir.
Huge thanks to everyone who has input thus far.
Only thing I need now is the panel...
On a similar note... is there any sort of a side wing deflector to fill in the gaps? And has anyone ever seen a fan shroud that works with the generator mounted fan?
Looking for a decent radiator pan for a 37 pickup. even if someone could do a tracing with some heavy paper so I could get the dimentions to make it myself.
Any offers are appreciated.
Anyone know if this is actually for a 37 pickup? Looks a little funky to me. Trying to get some extra support on the crank and maybe some extra cooling help, mostly so I don't slip again and poke a hole in my core.

The Barn saves the day. Thanks so much guys.
While we're here, do you have a detail of the bed?
I'm sure it was paintedthe same as the body and stakes, but what wood did you use? and I need to replace the rails under the bed as well.
In fact, what woods did you use on each part?
I have seen those, but I have also seen the steel. I know they where an option, so I could go the farmer route and make my own and it would still look right for my goal. I just want to know all my options.
