    1947 Ford Super Deluxe Convertible

I'm working on a 1947 Super Deluxe Convertible and rebuilding the convertible hydraulics. Does anyone have any pictures of the mounting location of the assist springs behind the cylinders and where they mount?

That would also explain why the trunklock is missing.

Hey Petehoovie that looks like the culprit right there. Even the same color car. My guess is a guy would never find one of those kits so I think I'll just get it fixed and painted. Thanks for all the help Guys.

Thanks so much. As I am not going to hunt for this thing to install I guess its to the local trustworthy body shop to fix it properly and do some paint magic. Thanks again.

As you can see in the pictures attached just below each piece of masking tape you find a hole filled with filler. I found 6 not 4 and evenly spaced.

I have 4 mysterious holes that are peeking through the body filler that was hiding them on the trunk lid. These holes are evenly spaced around the trunk lock extension and housing and appear to go down to the chrome at the bottom of the trunk lid. Any guesses?????

    1947 Ford Super Deluxe Convertible

Hydro electric could not help with the springs or illustrations and I did find an original set of springs at Gene's Hot Rod Shop in Florida. I have used the top and found it works fine without the springs in place but we would like to finish the car as original as possible. Dave do you have any...

    1947 Ford Super Deluxe Convertible

I'm trying to complete the overhaul of the convertible top mechanism on our 1947 Super Deluxe and have hit a dilemma. Beside each of the lift cylinders is an assist spring that attaches to the tops frame, where do they attach at the bottom? It appears that a bracket may be missing. Any thoughts...

Any backfire or cough? Almost sounds lean and that would likely be power valve or accelerator pump.

    1948 ford convertible top cylinders

The 47 that I am currently working on had no bushings either. That being said I had a couple of aluminum bushings made at a local machine shop and the fit is perfect. To me taking up the slack just makes sense.
