Thank you, got it figured out and reposted in landscape format. I like old school tech. Not much "other" in use on this end.
Pickup is so nice. Most everything except body work is like new and working as it should. Will be posting pics with my Daddy soon. He's a happy man to see it going again.
Thought some will enjoy a picture found today by my daddy. This was taken shortly after his pickup was ground towed from Grand Forks, ND to Johnston Co. North Carolina. Note wires for brake and tail lights and a new North Dakota tag, which I assume was required for towing.
Progress pics of...
Hello All,
Noticed today water pump has about 1/8 inch lateral motion when running.
Do I worry about something coming loose on impeller end and fan eating the radiator?
No leaks so tightening packing doesn't seem like the solution.
Figure someone here has seen similar and knows source of...
Hello All,
Wondering if there are supposed to be rubber grommets or something between the shaft and windshield frame for a hand operated wiper? Seems like otherwise it would just flop around. Similarly what keeps it to one side when not in use or does gravity keep it vertical and right in your...
I purchased floorboard for pickup with emergency brake to right of shifter.
Size is perfect, however only the 2 screw holes closest to the seat base line up. Holes on each side are off as much as 1/2".
Vendor spent a while on the phone, graciously checking their inventory and verified screw...
Thought you would enjoy this picture made earlier today. The background is my friend's Meadows sawmill, flat belt driven with his M Farmall. Hope this takes some of you back to fond memories of an earlier time, a momentary break from the world's current woes. Enjoy
Some interesting bits on the seat back. Cover was replaced with new vinyl in the mid 60's and the seat back placed on a high shelf in a dry barn. On Sunday I pulled it down, thinking my Daddy would get a kick out of using it on his pickup after all these years. I guess the mice had a...
Current brackets appear to be the 15 3/4" variety which indicates the later style 2 bar bumper. Holding up the earlier (ends swept back) bumper the ends are very close to the tires. I've read through the judging standards and checked the Service Bulletins and find information about brackets...
Good question. Come-a-long is putting stress on bumper brackets, which at some point were pushed in, I assume due to a slight collision. They've moved some, not quite enough. I relaxed some of the strain with a Mapp torch. Getting closer.
