Earned Patina - How Did Your Early V-8 Get It ?

My 32 B earned its patina working in a tree nursery, then back and forth trips to upstate PA hunting camps - since 1970's it's been a garage king between NJ and now Adams county PA.

Do those dipstick heaters really work?

I was a little guy in the early 60's living in Fairbanks Alaska, -50 F in the Winter - Dad had a electric block heater that was plugged in at home and all the local businesses had electrical outlets in the parking lots. On the AF base the Diesels ran 24/7 as if they stopped and got cold, the...

1932 The Deuce, Dually, Dump Truck

Chris - Train them up when they are youngsters and keep it fun - They will remember and cherish Pap's Old Truck ! Who knows maybe they will take it into the future as a legacy project? Perhaps some form of cab heater should be in your future? Mine has one mounted but not piped in or wired to 6v.

Chris - 17 gallons should be the capacity - Dave's book -5-39 speaks to the tanks - looking at how you are pulled in I would imagine you fill from the passenger side like my PU does? I wonder what the average MPG will work out to ?

Chris - I was thinking about what you said about door work - You'd rather change an engine !? This is what my drivers side door alignment wedge looks like as compared to passenger side. Clearly more use on driver getting in and out over the years - It appears to be formed from sheet metals...

1932 The Deuce, Dually, Dump Truck

Chris - It's looking better each day ! I can tell you are moving onto the finer points when you started looking at the lacing and the interior panels ;-) I'm on the hunt for a 17' spoke wheel to replace the single correct size 18 that is in the spare position. Rather than look for a set of...

Chris, The floor boards look excellent ! Mine are plywood and I thought that they where a home build remake ? Did you use any insulating materials between the frame and the underside of the ply to keep out heat, sound, debris, fumes ? I'm thinking it would be helpful in my case as I have...

    Vintage Air Heater

Guys - My 32 B Truck 4 Cyl has a TropicAire heater in the cab that appears to been operational at some point. It's wired up to a switch to run the fan, but the hoses are not connected. Does anyone have pix of how their heater tapped into the cooling water lines ? I'd appreciate the photos so...

David, Chris - Yesterday the delivery included David's excellent 2 volume set on 32's ! Amazing amount of information and detail. I did a quick read through the first volume and looked at the second one this morning over coffee. BTW - I really appreciate the spiral binding as it allows you...

    dead battery

Wow - reversed the polarity! Now that you have sorted it out, remember it never hurts to pull the cable or use a battery disconnect when its garaged.
