    Connecting rod identification

Really appreciate all the feedback. I’ve got some good direction now. Sounds like a set of matched rods would be a good investment in my situation. This engine was seized up prior to my purchase almost 15 years ago. It really hadn’t been driven much until this year. I put probably 1200 miles on...

    Connecting rod identification

Thanks for the explanation. That’ll get me back on track. I dropped the pan and pulled the heads to hone and re-ring the engine. This engine was stuck prior to my ownership. And it came with a set of rings. The rod journal in question was not damaged. The remainder of the rods bearings and...

    Connecting rod identification

I need to replace one of the connecting rods in my cabover. It looks like it spun a bearing at some point. The rod in question has 99 R8 cast in one side and A105 on the other side. A few of the rods have the same casting. Other rods read 99A and 99 R9. Can’t seem to find any information on...

    '41 Ford COE questions

Finally found a metal worker and a painter to take on my project. Made some progress on the truck this past year. Paint is almost complete and assembly is going well. I have a bunch of trim, the running boards and the flatbed at powder coating.

    '41 Ford COE questions

They’re out there but in short supply so they’re busy. I have a friend that owns a body shop and does amazing work but I have a hard and fast rule, I never do business with friends or family.

    '41 Ford COE questions

Haven’t posted in a while. All my kids are grown up so dad gets to work on his toys. Still trying to find somebody to get my paint and body done but I’ve been tinkering with the running gear. Runs a Dana 60 in front and an Eaton H072 in the rear now. NP205 tcase behind the factory flathead and 4...

Yeah Idaho. Boys grew up and my oldest started college in WA state. Figured we'd better move and get closer.

    '41 Ford COE questions

Little update on the old '41. Drug up and moved to Idaho. My truck was all stripped and ready for paint but my painter flaked out on me. Put it back together enough to move and towed it to Nampa Idaho. I've got a reputable painter in the area and I'm hoping to get back on the project and...

    '41 Ford COE questions

Dan, Thanks for your service to our country. Glad that Uncle Sam has you in a place that you can play with your vintag toys. Intermittent problems can be frustrating. My friend has a Hudson that was having a similar issue. We found that it has a deteriorated insulator on the distributor which...
