    Rear Fender for Leatherback

Thanks guys, correct, I am referring to missing the three holes for the rear apron. I was just concerned the “correct” fender might be a different shape. If it’s just drilling holes, no big deal!

    Rear Fender for Leatherback

Been working on a complete restoration of a 60B. Literally bought it in parts 7 years ago. Finally prepared to mount fenders but now realizing the rears must be from another car, although they’ve now been beautifully filled sanded and painted. There are not the three holes to mount to the rear...

    New armature too big?

Got new brushes, no problem, what's the easy fix? The end bushings aren't in play, so don't see what adjustments would be possible. I must be missing something..

    New armature too big?

Sorry for the late response guys. Well, the two units are absolutely identical in all dimensions that I can measure. I'm replacing the armature because of the badly unevenly worn commutator, which would not likely allow new brushes to ride flat. The bushings are both sitting towards the outside...

    New armature too big?

Hi all, attempting a rebuild on my starter for my 29 leatherback. When installing the new armature to check for end play I find that in fact it's dimensions are larger than the original leaving zero end play at all and it will not move whe the housing is screwed together. The mounting end...

    New Rad and Shell

Thanks all, sorry I've been away and just caught up on replies...I hadn't really considered repairing and then replating the old shell. Haven't heard too many positives on replating quality either. I imagine I'll get my rad then see how the old one is for fit and shape first...maybe replating...

    New Rad and Shell

Hey Barners I'm restoring a '29 Leatherback and looking for complete replacements for both the radiator and shell. Lots of choices for radiators but have not seen any positive feedback on repro shells, regardless of finish. Anyone have a positive experience with a repro shell for a '29? Thank, CT

    Shaping new wood to fit

All of my wood I'm sure was original, doesn't appear there have been any restorations done. My replacement parts are from ford wood, and the match up fairly close to what has come off that isn't dust. Structurally I think I'm close, except I'm struggling with dry fitting the steel. I understand...

    Shaping new wood to fit

Thanks guys, great advice, particularly re: joint fit. I will have to build up the older tenons to be snug in the new header. I'm curious how closely the steel header cover and front post covers should line up and fit together when mounted on the wood. Are they perfectly fitted together - the...

    Shaping new wood to fit

Hi All Beginning to shape new front pillars and header wood in my 29 Leatherback. Having gotten this car in a partially deconstructed state, I'm unsure as to how close these pieces need to fit. Can anyone share some pics of a finished state of the front corners of a leatherback - or maybe all...

    Wood Assembly Sequence Questions

Thanks Terry. Some great photos there that will be very helpful! Where I'm stuck today is figuring how I will reinstall the cowl (before I screw it all together and glue). Did you have to replace your front pillars? I'm not sure if I should straighten the tabs on one side of the cowl that wrap...

    Wood Assembly Sequence Questions

Working on my first restoration - a 29 Leatherback. Front posts and header were pretty much dust coming apart. Looking for pointers on assembly sequence and tips for getting the cowl back on with correct dimensions when reinstalling window and steel trim.
