    What model Battery Tender?

I live in New England and store my 4 vehicles for a minimum of 3 months in unheated buildings. I have had good success with just disconnecting the batteries using a disconnect switch or removing the ground cable. Before the 1st start in the spring I put a charger on which usually brings the...

    Roadster seat Cushions

If you Have an original seat it doesn't have foam. Even if someone has reupohlstered the seat more than likely it doesn't have foam. The stock seat spring is attached to a wood frame. There are no spacers or risers except the coil spring, some padding, and the tufted seat covering. If you are...

    Lucas Hub Oil

Try using John Deere Corn Head grease in place of 600W oil. This grease has thixotropic properties meaning its viscosity changes (lowers) when stirred causing it to flow or circulate. When it comes to rest it returns to its initial viscosity. I use it in my steering box, transmission mixed with...

Should I Worry or JB Weld it?

I would remove the starter motor and go fishing with a magnet to remove any leftover pieces. Use the type that is attached to a handle with a flexible cable. You might want to consider drilling out the hole and tapping it for a short machine screw in place of using epoxy.

    Rootleib

In support of Neil's comments about 6061-T6 aluminum alloy as a substitute material I have used this material almost exclusively for manufacturing automated system components. It is strong, dimensionally stable, easy to machine, and form.

    Tick/Tap

It might be your timing gear making the ticking sound. Run this test. Remove the timing pin and start engine. Take a short piece of wood dowel 2" long x1/4" or 3/8' dia and radius the end. Insert dowel in the timing pin hole and force it against the rotating timing gear surface. If the ticking...

CAD Model of Model A Engine

Very nice work. What is the scale? I assume all the major pieces were 3D printed. I believe Terry Burtz did his engine design in Solid Works as well. However as Terry found out, the most challenging part of the engine block design cycle is designing the internal features of the block and all the...

    Brake Fade is Real!

As a temporary fix I would go with Katy' suggestion. Seeing that you live in the east I suggest going with Tams Model A parts in W. Boylston, MA and save some money on shipping. I recently purchased a set of USA made cast drums with new hubs from them. They came turned with hubs assembled and...

Please help me start my car

Let's assume all the things you have listed in your "have done" list are correct. Some Barners are suggesting you check your wiring and key switch. I agree this could be an area where there is a problem. Rather than troubleshooting the wiring in an effort to prove your engine runs I would bypass...

    Timing help, some clarification

I agree with MARKA's comment about your rotor hitting the condenser. The rub mark on the case indicates this is happening. Reposition the condenser if you can or bevel the bottom edge of the plastic on the rotor.

    Infrared thermometer recommendations

The primary difference between the various infrared thermometers being sold is their level of accuracy in reading temperature. In general, the higher price imagers have greater resolution. If you are only going to check for general temperature differences the less expensive units will do the...

    Someone please diagnose these plugs

Your plugs look all good. The discoloration on the insulators could be from a small amount of coolant or oil leakage in their respective cylinders. If there is leakage it could be oxidizing during ignition causing the discolorization. Change plug positions and see if the discolorization repeats.
