Just wondering : what's your year of birth ?

I'm writing all the names and birth dates down in my journal. Can you guys please include the last 4 numbers to your social security cards so I can complete the requirements to earn my official Boy Scout phishing badge? Mama needs a new car and all this personal info stuff will help her to get...

New museum name change for Ford

Anyone know the real reason behind the name change after so many years? I know what the article says, but usually there is more to the story than what a Director may state. http://www.13abc.com/content/news/Henry-Ford-Museum-changing-its-name--411533405.html I worked for a state government...

Should I get my air bag inspected?

Do your tires still have the original Model A air in them?

Should I get my air bag inspected?

I had a PT Cruiser a few years back and the glove box to it was a classic example of "truth in advertising" in that it really only held one singular glove. :-)

Should I get my air bag inspected?

There is maintenance required on a Model A Ford? Gosh, by the way the previous owner treated mine before I bought it, I never would have remotely even guessed. :-)

Should I get my air bag inspected?

I noticed that Takata just got fined 1 billion for faulty air bags. I was checking mine and I am worried that it may be faulty, but I am not certain that it is original equipment or not as the car has had a few previous owners before me in the past. I am hoping to be part of the settlement as...

    Classic Car Insurance

Actually it is a fairly common practice. Same thing happens at USAA when you try to insure a motorcycle and are directed to Progressive. It has nothing to do with what vehicle is related as you mentioned, but is how the individual company decides to handle the insurance policies as they choose...

    Daily driving suggestions.

The tools you will need will always be the very ones you left on that workbench in your garage. I drove the wheels off my '30 tudor as a daily driver and work vehicle for years before selling it. I didn't treat it as a trailer queen, nor did I shelter it from the elements. I pretty well drove...

    gas gauge rebuild

A bit off topic for this, but I bought an old crock pot at a thrift store for a couple of bucks. It does wonders for removal of rust on hinges and bolts and such by simply dropping in some water and then the part to cook there for a while. I see them all the time and really cheap in Goodwill and...

Hand wiper for a 30 closed car

Removed the second photo and edited my reply. I have some photos in my phone of the bracket installed in a pickup, but, unfortunately, I have no clue as to how to email them to myself so I can post them here. I had a friend email them to me on the phone a few months back as his pickup still has...

Hand wiper for a 30 closed car

The hand-held wiper assembly shown at Mike's Affordable in the previous photos posted would require a bracket if it is similar to the ones used on closed cab pickups. I believe that there is a bracket for it which is not shown in the photo, (but I may be mistaken). On the pickups which used...

    Light switch question

Put Vaseline onto the base of a light bulb and you won't like the results afterwards. CorrosionX would do the same as dielectric grease. They make a light bulb grease sold at AutoZone and such which is probably better than Dielectric grease.

    Car stalling at sudden stops.

This may sound odd, but my '30 tudor used to stop every time I drove a few hundred yards and came to a stop sign out in my street near work. It would then crank right back up, but it did this several times one week. The culprit was that I had put too much junk onto my key chain and there was a...

    Repo ignition switch plate questions

Well, it appears that the disc is cut too large for the trim ring. I had a couple of different trim rings and it would not fit properly in any of them, no matter what I tried. Decided to chuck it instead of possibly damaging anything else in putzing about with it. I can mark the area an don't...

    Repo ignition switch plate questions

This is a bit difficult to explain so I hope you understand what i am asking: I have an OFF and ON ignition switch plate which I am replacing on my '30 ccpu. The original one was missing when I got the truck so I got a replacement. The old dash was powder coated as it was in sad shape and this...
