I have driven Model A’s from my first one in 1967 (‘30 Briggs Town Sedan) until 2020 when I installed restored Houdaille shocks on my ‘31 Deluxe Roadster. I was very surprised at the difference the shocks made - a huge improvement in ride stability and handling.
Since the, I have found 2 more...
I’m looking for the inner piece of window trim for the rear window for a 1929 sport coupe. I’m willing to buy the entire assembly if necessary.
Thanks very much – Jim
Wanted Rumble Lid Hinge Bolts - ‘29 Coupe
I’m looking for a set of good used original hinge bolts for a rumble lid to fit a ‘29 coupe. Not sure, but I think the bolts are the same for all years.
thanks very much,
Jim
I’ve been very happy with the Pertronix flamethrower epoxy-filled coil as others have mentioned. It’s mounted with wires pointing down, and I’ve had no issue with points not lasting.
We’re getting ready to make and install a new top on my ‘29 Sport Coupe - with the metal 2-piece trim piece around the belt rail. We've looked at several cars and read articles about installing this top, but some trim details are not clear, and the cars we have looked at do not appear to have...
Re: OD-C3 Electric Wiper Motor Installation on ‘29 Sport Coupe
Rotorwrench - thanks again. My ‘29 was re-wired for an afternarket wiper motor that I think was used on Jeeps in the 40’s. The original wiring was removed at some point, so I’m starting at ground zero. My car is having an...
Re: OD-C3 Electric Wiper Motor Installation on ‘29 Sport Coupe
Thanks Rotorwrench. The clips under the gas tank and at the cowl are in place. I’m not sure how the wire should be routed along the header and whether or not it’s behind the cardboard panel at the header or visible.

OD-C3 Electric Wiper Motor Installation on ‘29 Sport Coupe
I’ll be installing an Owens Dyneto (OD-C3) wiper motor in a couple of weeks and am not sure how the wire is routed from the terminal box to the motor. Specifically, I’m not sure where the wire clips should be installed. The RG&JS says...
Re: Windshield Frame Gasket- ‘29 Coupe ??
Joe K,
Thanks very much for the reminder about Rick’s Shop Manual…I still have my copy and had forgotten all about it. If only 1/8” of the gasket should protrude, I think the gasket I recently received will work.

Windshield Frame Gasket- ‘29 Coupe ??
The rubber gasket I received from one of my usual suppliers seems to be too narrow; it does not stick out past the edge of the frame. Every gasket I see on restored cars extends a half inch or so beyond the frame. I also have a windshield header gasket...
Thanks everyone for your replies. I think Ill either paint the spacers black or leave them their natural color. This car has been repainted at least twice in its 96 years, so that probably explains paint color on the original spacers.
Jim
The original hard rubber landau iron spacers on my ‘29 Sport Coupe appear to have been originally painted body color. However, recently restored cars I;ve seen have unpainted spacers. The RGJS is equivocal on this detail.
If I do opt to paint the spacers, I’ll probably use a brush to paint...
