I ended up accepting the 15k and I negotiated a better deal for the buyback.
The bad part is I cannot get a salvage title for this in Colorado. They don’t accept salvage title on classic cars for some reason. I’ll have to get a bonded or builders title if I want to rebuild this car.
Hagerty is giving me the full $15k (agreed upon value) but their buy back price is $3,675. That is a lot higher price than I was anticipating. They also told me it would go to CoPar if I didn’t but it back. Sure wish I would have known about the Cherished rider.
Hagerty has already stated to me a buy back option is on the table but it’s only words so far.
The stop sign runner got a traffic ticket before she left the scene. The State Patrol told me what the offense was but I can’t remember now. She also admitted fault to the State Patrol on scene, no...
I have the agreed upon value at 15k (recommended by Hagerty when quoting) with no Cherished value rider (didn’t know it existed).
It’s looking like I have this car under valued per Brent. How could State Farm value/pay the vehicle at 7-8k when the agreed value is 15k. Would Hagerty make up the...
I was the only one in the vehicle and no seat belts installed in the car. I’ve been thinking about the crash and really don’t know if I would have faired better wearing a lap belt. I stayed in the car but I know I hit the passenger roof on my way around. The steering wheel is bent pretty bad...
I know that I am jumping the gun here but I will see where it goes through my insurance (Hagerty) when her insurance company (State Farm) is ultimately responsible.
The gas tank survived very well, it was leaking a little out the cap when on its side. I asked the firemen to help me push it back...
I got t-boned by a stop sign runner yesterday. She hit my passenger side rear wheel and it sent the back end up in the air and I rolled the car. Everyone is OK but I am wondering if you think the body is too far gone for repair or should I just look for a new body/car.
I had some original shocks rebuilt by John Holland and he even supplied some good cores for me. He does not have a website and the only contact for him that I have is a phone number 330-483-3896.
He did a great job and the stock shocks work just fine.
I also got rebuilt shocks from John Holland. I've had them on the car for 1,000 miles or so and they are they are great! I did not have shocks previously and they really make it go over bumps much better.
He takes a little while to get them completed but his work is 1st rate.
I was only able to...
Model A generators have an adjustable 3rd brush that you need to manually adjust often for the output required. Daily perhaps. Sounds like you just need to turn it up higher when headlights are on.
I was just running with my headlights on all the time and adjusted the generator up to compensate...
I was also wearing out only one front tire. It turns out the camber was out due to the axle being bent at some time. I took it to an "old time" alignment shop and they were able to bend the axle to get the correct camber. Now my tires show even wear. It was pretty neat seeing the A on a modern...
