Paddle Seals for Trico Vacuum Windshield Wipers

I have heard that some folks play down the value of paddle seals used in the repair kits for vacuum wipers. Is this something that originated years ago? The same material is being used today for the kit seals, I'm told. Any info appreciated.

Searching for a 3" Long Vacuum Wiper Shaft

I am rebuilding my TR-01A vacuum wiper for my Deluxe Roadster. I am looking for another 3" shaft that runs through the upper portion of the paddle. I haven't been able to locate a non-working motor from which I could remove the shaft and possibly use it. The parts vendors obviously don't...

    Rear Water Pump Grease Fitting

Appreciate the comments with respect to the shackles. I disassembled the rears a few years ago - a lot of work just to get grease to flow. I will try jacking; much faster if it works! Jim won't remember, but when I was doing a ground-up restoration of my '31 Roadster about fifteen years ago...

    Rear Water Pump Grease Fitting

What is the latest assessment of the type of lubricant to use for the rear fitting? Bratton's advertises a low-temp grease, which presumably will dissolve if it makes it to the radiator, while Snyder's advertises a high-temp grease. And, for the rear shackles, I suppose that there is no way to...

    Model A and T Upholsterers

I have a friend up in Mass. that does admirable machine work and restorations for Model A's and T's. I have known him for several years and have seen his shop and his work. He recently was asked to refurbish the interior of a T. He ordered the material from Classtique. They sent him...

    Adjusting Accelerator Assembly

Super helpful comments! This is a '31 Deluxe Roadster that I restored ground-up about 14 years ago. Since I never use the gas throttle lever, I never thought to check it at the time. The gas pedal itself works perfectly, and the car runs fine. I will report back on the adjustment. Thanks...

    Adjusting Accelerator Assembly

Photo is not appearing. It was uploaded, but maybe too large?

    Adjusting Accelerator Assembly

My accelerator control assembly is essentially inoperative. When I pull the gas rod down at the steering column, increased rpms do not kick in until the lever is almost all the way down. I have attached a photo from the right side of the engine compartment. You can see the gray exhaust...

Rebuild Procedure for a Stewart-Warner Round Speedo

Thanks to Ray and Steve for their providing the URL to the Cabriolet site, which contains the Beaver Chapter article among several others of value. Even Wiley Higgins has an article there, so I can tap him for some thoughts.

Rebuild Procedure for a Stewart-Warner Round Speedo

I have seen his advertisements on here. I've also used Dennis Ellerman for rebuilds. These gentlemen are in the business of selling their services. I was hoping to find someone who was interested in the technical aspects of the rebuild, and who might have published something.

Thanks. You wouldn't happen to have a link to that site, would you?

Rebuild Procedure for a Stewart-Warner Round Speedo

The 1994 article says that the round is easier to address technically, but they devote the entire article to the oval speedo. I'm interested in the mechanical aspects of the restoration. There are folks who restore these, but that's not my direction at the moment.

Rebuild Procedure for a Stewart-Warner Round Speedo

There is a 1994 written procedure for overhauling the oval speedo. I would like to take a stab at overhauling the '30-'31 Round speedo, which is supposedly not quite as complicated. Do you know of anyone who has done a write-up on the '30-'31? (Or, who would like to talk me out of it, because...

    3X Spark Plugs

I saw this when I was searching for info on the 3X plus. A good write-up. Maybe a thin-enough sheet of copper can be located so that one can make their own seals.

    3X Spark Plugs

I have ten of the repro Champion 3X plugs with the flat top on the number "3." These should have an upper and lower copper seal in the interior, which in this case are quite worn. Are these seals even available commercially, or do the seals provide little value in the firing of the plugs?
