New guy and I have a weird question

Why 12V? 6V works well. I have made the upgrades to 6V LED headlight bulbs and 6V LED Taillights (very bright lights) mainly for safety and visibility. I still operate a 6V Generator. Its work is easier with the LED lights

    Hole in Block???

I agree it was scary Timing cover is being put back on today. Out of sight - out of mind Sitting in my chair watching the snow that is coming down - expecting 6 inches today Glad I have an enclosed breeze way to go to my heated garage (28 ft X 40 ft)

    Hole in Block???

Great information Plunk Thanks Interesting thing is that I never noticed this "hole" in the block for my 1930 Canadian Roadster when the motor was overhauled in 2012 (Canadian engine)

    Hole in Block???

Thanks for the feedback I thought so, but the hole looks really crappy and rough edges, like something foreign punched it out.

    Hole in Block???

I recently removed the side panel from my Town Sedan motor and discovered what looks like a hole in the side of the block from the valves area to the crankshaft fiber gear. Hole size is about 2" X 1.5" in size. Edges are ragged. Picture is attached. Is this normal? Or did something at one...

    Synthetic Oil for Model A

No Thermostat Never measured fuel mileage. Only put 1,900 mile on it since I got it in 2009. I do know short trips does not help Thank-you for all the comments so far.

    Canadian Patent Plate

Just for your information, Canadian Model A 1930 - 31 did not come with a patent plate on the firewall. 1928's had a patent plate and it was sometime in 1929 it was dropped. Information is available in the "Canadian Model A" Section in the Judging Standards.

    Synthetic Oil for Model A

I am currently cleaning out some sludge in the oil pan for my Town Sedan. I have been using Pennzoil 5W30 oil. Last oil change showed that I had sludge in the oil pan. I range from 23 to 230 miles per year on this car. I usually change oil once per year. I am thinking of switching to Mobil...

    Original Firewall Color

One also needs to remember that the cowl paint was not "rubbed" or polished out like the exterior body was. (JS Area 14: Paint & Stripping - page 14-1, Paint Quality) A good example of this effect is shown in the picture at the top of Page 1-9 in Area 1 - Engine Compartment
