To be honest, reading through this thread is what turns me, and many others off from joining the clubs. Poor guy makes a video, does not know what he is doing (like many new people) and instantly gets roasted for it.
if you are using the stock wiring harness you should have a red wire going from one pole of the coil to the ignition switch. the other pole of the coil is connected to terminal block with a short black wire.
Unfortunately the unit is totally dead, no further testing on it possible. I'll probably stick with the tried and true units that have just a bulb in them.
Thank you for the response, your hypothesis could certainly be true. I've had my A for 12 years now and I've probably used my fluke at the cutout terminal dozens of times without issue. I'm guessing this 20 dollar amazon test light must be junk, after the incident the unit is totally dead...
Yes sir, positive ground. What i dont understand is why it happened on the cutout output terminal, but everything was fine when i hooked up the main starter terminal. Just wondering if that spot is a general no-no for some reason.
So I’ve always been interested in test equipment, especially simple things like test lights but never went to the trouble of buying one. Anyhow I’m on Amazon and see a cheapo test light that has a built in readout that shows voltage so I buy it. It arrives and I’m eager to try it (even though...
Very excited for this new regulator. I have had the fun projects regulator for a number of years and have sorely missed it ever since I accidentally shorted it out. Looking forward to being able to try out the new unit!
Shockingly just received a VT registration renewal in the mail yesterday which I wasn't expecting. Immediately submitted for a 2 year renewal online. The payment went through so we'll see what turns up in the mail. I know a lot of you look down on VT reg but many of us here live in very...
WTB spring for 3 hole window regulator. All vendors seem to be out of stock, I would hate to buy a repop when I have a good original and only need the spring....
Photos taken at old fort Hancock in sandy hook New Jersey. The fort goes back to the colonial era, at its zenith they had multiple coastal defense artillery batteries to defend New York harbor. It is now a national park and sadly falling to pieces.
hijacking your thread; your pictures got me thinking.... went out did some exploring with the model A today, found a couple of derelict buildings and took a couple shots. Im no photographer, but here they are.
