    Motor freezes up periodically

After purchasing a new starter, the culprit was..... a bad solenoid... At least its fixed. The starter was easier to replace then that dang, underneath the battery behind the firewall, solenoid... Thanks again for all the ideas guys

    Motor freezes up periodically

I do have the small braket that conects to the oil pan. My question is... Was the starter jammed because it's going bad or was it jammed because the engine is frozen... I pulled the plugs and found no fluid inside.

    Motor freezes up periodically

When I removed the starter, it took some persuading. I had to tap it a couple times with a rubber hammer to get the starter drive assembly to disengage from the engine, and when I did so, the Armature spun clockwise to eventually come off. Is that a sign of something?

    Motor freezes up periodically

You guys are the best. Thank you so much for all the replys. I checked the oil and no coolant in it. I took off the starter yesterday and tested it with the battery. It turned over without issue. It has the original solenoid, so I'll be picking up a new one. I'll also check for hydraulic lock...

    Motor freezes up periodically

What would cause a flathead to run great, and then a day later not even turn over? I can't even turn the engine over by hand... New oil, battery, new wiring, newly rebuilt starter ( which I took out and tested) no overheating.... And then, by some miracle, I'll try and start it another day and...

def just the two c springs and two small rubber bumpers in the top two corners. Thats it. The springs should be plenty strong to keep it closed.

    Headers on a 39 ford

I just installed speedways headers on my 38 pickup... I don't recommend them if you still have your stock steering box. Lots of hammering was required to make clearance... That and some cursing.

    1939 Pickup Window Channel

The wider beefier felt channels are inside the door closer to the hinges as the smaller felt channel is near the door handles. There's a thin metal tab on the bottom of both channels holders ( not in the kit) than keep the felt channels secure. The bend quite easily but don't break them!

    1938 pickup door window seal

Bought the window felt kit and started putting it in yesterday. Those clips are quite a pain.. I noticed that the bottom corners of the window have no felt or seal touching them. When it rains, is the water just supposed to run down the inside of the door and flow out the bottom?
