Does anyone know if there is a difference in the wishbone rubber ball dimensions between the early Ford and Lincoln ? Thanks

I have a '39 Lincoln Coupe and the wishbone ball (rubber bushing) didn't last too long. Possibly a cheaper version and couldn't take the small oil leaks from v12 or trans. Or maybe the ball diameter is different for the Lincoln ?? and I installed the wrong one !

I could be wrong maybe those studs, bolts didn't go in transmission, but the adapter. Could be a bigger problem. Help please !!

It's possible the threads on stud or transmission are stripped. So to find out you turn and tighten nut. If stripped it must come out and there are various thread repair kits. If ok, Christmas came early ! Good Luck

In trying to take the slack out in my steering. I've run into a problem, the steering box adjustment screw is not going down to the position it was when I took it off to clean threads on screw and lock nut. The sector shaft seems to be in a higher position, although the steering seems to work...

My Dad would jack up front and use a tape measure from front of one tire to the other. On the same tire tread measure front and back with one wheel stationary, on spinning wheel, mark runout and adjust accordingly for tow in. Seemed to work for me !

I've run a Columbia with 3.78 gears and Ford 9 inch axels. In two '34 Fords and in a '39 Zephyr which should be running this year. There was a small problem when starting out with this conversion but all has been well for 1000s of miles. All powered by 276 v8s and v12.
