    Battery keeps dying

Take the cable (+/-) off of the ungrounded battery terminal, and put an ammeter between the cable and the terminal. Does it read anything? If so, disconnect what ever is at the other end of the cable, hook up the ammeter between that end of the cable and whatever it is hooked to. (Terminal...

    Whats happening here

Damn, I lost the bet! You prove the reciprocal of the old adage about most carburetor problems are electrical in nature. Glad you found the problem, although I'll miss your ranting and raving. :p CZ

    Whats happening here

Ah ha! Now we're getting someplace. If it started having problems with the "rebuilt" dizzy, the odds are pretty good that the problem is in there. Who rebuilt it? Do they have a track record of good work, or was it the Shadetree Shop run by the kid fresh out of Auto Tech? As has been suggested...

    Whats happening here

It sure sounds like a coil going bad. Since you said you had an ohm meter, measure the ohms in the primary, (low voltage) and secondary windings when the coil is cold, and making a spark. Then run it for40 minutes, or whenever it starts acting strange, and measure the two coils again. If they...

If the engine started, it blew smoke until the oil was burned out of the cylinders. If the ground crew...

Budd Body Model A Ford in 1928...

A question if I might. To stamp the pieces would require dies, and dies are expensive, unless you can amortize them over a long production run, so the question is, did Budd really make the dies on speculation? Or were they made for another customer and used as a promo to Ford? CZ

    Air filter question

Thanks guys. I'll suggest that he gets a big sock type filter. We can rig up a support off of the manifold. I've ruined a few motorcycle engines by running them without filters. Ring and land wear gets out of hand. CZ

The guy next block just bought a 29 A coupe. It has a Marvel carb, but no air filter. Did they come without one? CZ
