    Sector shaft removal

I would have to think the shaft fits through the rail, it's already through the frame now. Doesnt the steering gear and sector slide through the rail during installation? I'm wondering if the shaft can slide out towards the engine side once the end cover is removed. No?

    Sector shaft removal

Hello all, I've looked but cant find anything related to my question. On my 28 roadster 7 tooth steering gear. Is it possible to remove the pitman arm and the sector shaft adjuster cover and wiggle the old sector shaft out for inspection? Can it be done without removing the column?

    32 Coupe needs a flathead 59AB

Yes It is an aftermarket frame using the side mounts on the small block chevy. After researching it more I do know now what I didn't know then. I will have to cut the mounts off and weld new tabs further up front for the integral mounts that are on the front of the Flathead engine to sit on the...

    32 Coupe needs a flathead 59AB

Thanks for the kind words Bassman. I'm going to look closer at my 32 to see where the cross member is and if those front mounts can be used. I'm going to guess no. My 32 is a typical custom kit, very similar to the original side rails but everything in between is different, ie (drop out center...

    1/2" too Much Water?

Being new to Model A's I made that mistake just last week. Checking all the fluids I noticed there was a lot of air above the coolant level in the radiator. Obviously not thinking old school I filled it up to about an inch under the cap. Guess what happened the next time I used it? Yup, coolant...

    32 Coupe needs a flathead 59AB

I will be buying one all finished and turn key if I can find one complete. As much as I enjoy building engines I don't have the free time to devote to that part of the Hobby any longer. I would like to buy one from Walt but shipping and crating seams to be an issue. There are other rebuilders...

    32 Coupe needs a flathead 59AB

Hi all, my SBC 32 Coupe is nice but I don't think I will be happy until it has a customized Trick flathead resting between the rails. If anyone can steer me in the right direction let me know. Is Flathead City my best bet? If anyone has one done and for sale give a shout.

    Newbe with a hood question

I guess I need to educate myself. I'll pick up those publications and get to it. Unfortunately mine has none of the above items, no hooks, no pads and no bumpers. : (

    Newbe with a hood question

I have a 28 roadster and I have a question, should there be rubber hood bumpers down on the lower sides to isolate the hood sides from the body when they are latched? Also, Did the 28 Roadsters have a catch or some type of support to hold the hood open when checking the oil etc?
