Is there a 12 to 6 volt reducer that can handle the amps of a portable 12 volt jumper. Jumping with a 12 volts will blow the gauges and and motors. I am buying a 54 Ford automatic and there is no pushing this car to pop start it.
I am installing power steering in my 64 Galaxie. I am looking for illustrations of the steering column and transmission linkage. I have a handle on shortening the steering shaft and tube but not sure on handling the shifter.
I am converting from manual to Borgeson P/S. Do I need to replace the water pump pulley from 1 to 2 belt grooves. to match the new crank 2 groove pulley.
Original 1st crank groove drives the generator and water pump.
The second crank pulley would idle off the water pump and drive the P/S...
Crank does not have a lap groove worn in. Yes the seals part lines are staggered about 1/4 inch and the ends siliconed as well was cap corners. All I can think of is some material is still in the bearing OR there is a manufactured problem in the upper seal area. Maybe I should silicone this...
Well replacing the rear main seal I found a real mess. it Took heck of an effort to get out the 1/2 seal above the crank. It was loaded with black RTV. I spent a couple of hours running fine brushes in the bearing slot to get the crap out. Wouldn't you know it, the NEW Felpro main seal...
Can anyone identify the application for my carburetor? I recently purchased 65 Mustang has 6 cyl engine with I believe is the wrong Autolite A100 carburetor. I found part number "C3YF A" stamped on the body. This indicates to me it has 1963 application. I believe the complete part number is...
Has anyone been able to remove a 289 oil pan without having to raise the engine. Based on directions in the shop manual it can be done. The 64 Galaxie cross member goes directly under the pan. There is clearance but it's the oil pump/pickup.
The manual says after removing the pan bolt crank...
The upper ball joint on my 64 Galaxie does not have enough clearance to fit a torque wrench and socket. This is a 7/8 nut needing 60-90 ft'lbs of torque.
The best I have is a 12 inch box wrench. Any suggestions?
The rubber bumper was not the problem, it was the ball joint stem was 10thousands too large in diameter and 3/16 of and inch too long. I purchased Moog ball joints and bingo, the were correct and went in perfectly. Moog cost 2x as much but you cannot go wrong with quality over price. What a...
I cannot install the ball joint and bumper. The bumper shape prevents me from installing like I think it should go. The way the picture shows, I think the bumper is in backwards BUT the ball will not let me bolt up any other way.
2027, yep that's it. I thought I was looking at it in the suspension illustration as a standard part number. Thanks, I'll be PB blasting it to free it up. Still looking for one just in case, Thanks
Yep, 2027, that's it. The search is on. I be liberally applying PB Blaster to break it free.
Hope to find one for just in case. I have the catalog, but thought I was looking at it displayed in suspensions instead of brakes. Thanks.
Anyone know if the front brake anchor pin is available. It goes thru the spindle and brake carrier plate and shoes mount against?
It looks like the catalog illustration lists it as 359788-S (BB-265). I need to remove the spindle and concerned that fastener that goes through the spindle and...
I am struggling with the original 64 ball joints riveted to the suspension arm. I am on the first one and I have drilled through them and ground them off. I cannot get a punch to move them. This thing is really frozen in place. Any Ideas?
