I have the same setup as you and the reception has never been good. I put a under dash Tune trapper in and it does about the same. I have learned to just plug in the Ipod and forget about radio.

Here is the heads off my 40 pickup which I believe are to be original.

Yes I have one and use it for carbs. I use simple green in it and have had very good results. I dunked the intake and heads from the flathead in it and had some good results on them also. I have a Kendal unit with mechanical switches instead of electronic board. I feel like I got my money's...
