I believe the rifle is period correct. I believe it to be a M1903 with a C stock which was first issued in 1929. The hat is similar to the covers worn by drill instructors in the 1960's.

They are available at Classtique and at Mike's A-ford-able. Classtique's has weights on the inside. Don't know about Mike's.
