New fuel shutoff valve, ball valve filter

I just received a new ball-valve type fuel shutoff with the hex shaped opening and pencil filter. The filter fits loosely in the inlet side of the valve. Its not even close to a interference fit. What holds the filter in place ?? I'm afraid it will bounce out of the valve if not attached some...

    Points maintenance

I just got a new set of points from a reputable supplier and had the same problem. The point arm is such that about 33% of the point contact touched the adjustable point. They are unusable. Why do otherwise honest companies sell this crap ??

    Windshield/ Gas cap

I had the same problem with a brand new cap from Clastique (NOT the upholstery people). I talked to someone at Bert's Model A parts in Denver and he said that caps from that company were too tall. A new cap from Berts from another manufacturer solved the problem.

30 Coupe Door, HOW Do You.......?

The top of the door comes off. There are 3 or 4 screws on the very top. Take them out and the top of the door comes off.

    rumble seat backrest upper hooks

I think the problem is that the tabs are not quite long enough.

    rumble seat backrest upper hooks

Yes, I have them screwed in tight at the bottom also.

    rumble seat backrest upper hooks

Yes, I have the lower extensions attached and screwed into nut inserts on the rumble lid and still the top hooks work their way out of their slots.

    rumble seat backrest upper hooks

I can't be the only person with this issue. The upper hooks on the rumble seat cushion backrest fit into two corresponding slots in the inner panel of the lid. When the lid it closed, the cushion is basically suspended horizontally. Going over rough roads causes one or both of the hooks to come...

why are so many people fascinated by cars of the 1920s

I find just the opposite of what I read here. Most people could care less about my cars , 2 Model A's and a 1924 Model T (with original interior, never restored). They will walk right by my cars to admire a Mustang (a used car in my opinion). I guess one is attracted to cars of their youth...

    Engine numbers don’t match

Re: Engine numbers don’t match Run away from that car !! Its a $7500 car at best. Too much is questionable, most of all the title issue. If I was going to buy another Model A, I would look for a car that has been owned for a long time by a owner that can tell you all about his car as he...

    30/31 coupe dome light

I put a top wood kit in my coupe. Trying to figure out which way the dome light block goes in. Its a block with a tear drop hole cut in it to mount the dome light to. Does the big round end of the teardrop cutout go to the rear and the pointy end go to the front or the other way around ...

    28-29 interior upholstery panels

I thought I saw somewhere a set of uncovered interior panels for 29-29 roadster pickup. Now I can't find that on any of the vendors web sites. I want to cover the panels myself. It would be the six pieces, two each kick panels, door cards, and pieces next to the upper seat cushion. Anybody...

    Considering buying a T

Like a lot of others, I thought I wanted a Model T to go along with my 2 Model A's. Worst mistake I ever made. I was at an auction and bought an original '24 Tudor, original interior, ran and drove great. The other guy bidding was a rat-rod guy who was going to cut it up. Got it home and...
