Is it possible to lubricate the speedometer head?

So many posts on this I didn't know where to post this! Found 2 little tricks that might help people out. On a 28-29 cable there is room in the housing which makes the cable slap around. I got 1/4" od polyethylene tubing, you can get it at home depot, it's for refrigerator waterlines. Cut...

    21 inch tires

I have 4 21" Firestone Blackwall tires with tubes for sale. Tires are 3 years old and still in the wrappers. I would use them but just put new tires on my car. I picked them up at Hershey along with wheels, it was a package deal and I don't need the tires or tubes. All came from coker...

    Bonded brake shoes

I had a squealer. I had black colored return springs on the entire car. When re-lining brakes I ordered a set of springs from snyders. These are silver and a heavier gauge wire. Squeal went away. Squeal can also be chatter , any vibration can cause a noise. My dad was a mechanic for 50+...

    Shock fluid

Well, got Stipe to send me some. I have to send them an empty bottle! I'll probably never need it, but I got it.

Dyna Beads with Filtered Valve Cores

I have used dyna beads for about 5 years. Work good and on a 29 no glue on weights. You don't need the filtered cores, just keep stem towards top when servicing tire. Just above 9 and three o'clock is close enough. That's in the directions. No smart a-- remarks about digital required here...

    Shock fluid

Does anyone know where to get the oil for bill stipe shocks. 30w synthetic hydraulic oil. I can get it in 5 gal pails but I just need a quart probably forever! Be nice if they would sell me some but they don't seem too interested. Any ideas on a suitable sub?

    Oil Drips

Only one problem with Kitty litter, I you have a well trained cat, ( I do), they will use it. Could not figure out why my model a drippings smelled funny! Another problem is you will have a greasy cat!

    Success with improvements for touring

I think a lot of the mods are interesting, but not real dire necessity. My 29 is stock except for turn signals and iron drums. I used to just use hand signals but the dumb asses driving today thought I was waving! I find the stock stuff works fine. I've driven quite far in it, just stay off...

    Suddenly won't start

You had dash apart looking at connections? As my dad would say, go back to the last thing you screwed with. Worked fine before that, Yes?

    Fan Blade Problem

I had an aluminum 2 blade fan, and the blades were 3/8" out of plane. One was set back far enough to wack the radiator, only in reverse. Chattered bad. Fixed that too. Torgue tube was loose at rear. You gotta love some guys safety wire techniques! Anyway, Got new fan from snyders and...

    Russ Evans

I have been trying to contact Russ Evans for an altenator. I have these two numbers, 805-813-0480 and 508-583-4221. Neither one works. Anybody know how to get a hold of him? Thanks for the help, Brian

    Repro Hydraulic Shocks Mystery

Stipes shocks are beautifully made. I hated to paint them. Heavy too. I am mounting them this weekend if the NY weather cooperates. They seem to operate great, but I have to drive them to tell for sure. I paid about 1200 from brattons for everything, links etc. My 29 had no shocks. If you...

    shocks

I talked to John and he said he was pretty busy. Sounded like a nice man. He was my first option, but I went with the Stipes instead. I heard he's really good.
