Lock pins too large for axle?

Well, I took a file to the bores this morning…that did the trick. Front end all put back together. Thanks for the tips

Lock pins too large for axle?

Thanks, I’ll try a round file and see how that goes. Makes sense that maybe just the ends are off because of the tightening of the nut

Lock pins too large for axle?

Putting from the front…even with no kingpin in bores are too small…

Lock pins too large for axle?

Put a nice new axle in the car and the king pin locking pins seem too large for the holes…bores are less then 9/16. New kingpin set from Synders. Im not sure what to do next. Im surprised the bores are smaller than 9/16…anyone ever encounter this?

    Camber

Did new kingpins and got new tires then adjusted toe in. I realized that the driver side front tire looks to be at 0 degrees while the passenger side is about 2 degrees positive. Axle found to be bent. I’m going to a heavy truck alignment shop to have the axle straightened. My question is...

    Valve help

Thank you to all who responded. For context…the motor was rebuilt in the 70’s with adjustable lifters and has a “B” high compression police head. Motor has about 12k miles on it since the rebuild. I acquired the car 6 years ago and it had an intake manifold leak which I fixed and the car ran...

    Valve help

Had a really bad backfire a couple years ago from a short in the distributor. That issue was fixed but the car hasn’t idled right since. Misses at idle and the exhaust will suck in a dollar bill. I pulled the head. Does exhaust valve #5 look bad? I’ve never done a valve job….just looking...

    Sticking valves?

Thankfully I have adjustable lifters as well. I had the valve cover off last summer looking for a sticking valve and sprayed everything with MMO. I’ll definitely check clearances and adjust if need be…thanks

    Sticking valves?

Hi, I’m having the same issue. I had a huge backfire and saw that I had short in the distributor and after fixing that the car won’t idle as it should. There is some suction at the tailpipe at idle if you throw a rag infront of it. I’m thinking a valve issue. Was it hard to adjust the valves...

    Pickup Leg Room Needed

Best thing I did: from the passenger side heat up the bottom of the shift lever with a torch until it’s red hot and slowly pull the shift knob towards the passenger side. A slight bend will do wonders for leg room

    Roadster top tie down hardware

Does anyone know where I might be able to find this piece of hardware? Most of the suppliers say that it’s discontinued.

Parasitic draw at turn signal on column

And the reason I know there is a draw is because the turn signal switch light stays on when it’s in a neutral position
